Seemingly major problem at work...

Good luck, I'm going to go for this one:
- All accusations withdrawn and they still don't tell him what the original problem was

seems nasty, but i work for the southampton ICT Strategy Team, and pretty much any allegation made when children or Childrens data is involved will result in suspension. Two of the schools i support have suspended people this term! One was for losing his temper in a meeting. Escorted off site and keys taken away like he had committed a evil crime. Just safeguarding actions that LEA's put in place to protect the kids

Hope it works out for you mate, could well be something as simple as leaving a pc logged on as an Admin... that happened to one of my schools last year..

Oh hi, I work in HR :D

Well, I'm back, but minus a job....

Essentially, what happened was a yr 10 girls decided to shout out in a lesson that her mate slept with me, and the teacher reported it.

Thankfully, she admitted it was a lie, so I'm not getting arrested.

BUT because of this, and because I know a couple of the 2nd year 6th formers (I'm only 19, before anyone gets the wrong idea), they decided to give me the choice of being dismissed for inappropriate contact with 6th form students (the 3 I know I was friends with before I even started working there, and the school knew that when they employed me), or resigning with a clean record.

So, essentially, I've just lost my job for doing nothing wrong at all. :(

oh mate that sucks, I hope you'll be getting in touch with a solicitor asap to get your job back, that descion is utter ball cocks.

WHAT??

This is unfair dismissal. They have no rights what so ever to force you out of the job for that reason.

Have you called the union to get their advice? I know you are not with a union but call them and explain what has happened.

That's crap mate! As stated it doesn't sound right at all!

Surely some recourse against the silly girl who made this accusation as well.

Why is it inappropriate contact? Are you just mates with them? What's the deal?

I know it sucks balls and seems like a load of hassle but you can't just sit back and take it in the trumpet. Seek some legal advice and take this further.

oooook - so having done nothing but been known to a couple of 6th formers you're getting forcably removed? Surely there is more to the story than that. How did they get to "inappropriate contact with 6th form students"?
