Seemingly major problem at work...

Legal time and take them to the cleaners. Seriously.

Do exactly as Raymond has stated, this isn't a situation you want to discuss on an open forum (legally it may work against you if people can connect you to it).

Outside of this matter - you may feel shaky and lost but this normal stress in your situation. The best thing you can do is create a clear plan of what you need todo and talk to the correct people (CAB and an employment lawyer). It will become clearer and it's the lack of clarity that causes the stress.

Family and close friends can give you support but you need to make it happen.

Affliction, I kinda hope there is more to the story than you say... If not its just sick...

Maybe contact one of those no win no fee places, but get looking for a new job now...

If you are stuck for a while testking youself a few microsoft exams it will greatly improve your employability...

No need to tell a future employer you had to leave your old job...

Did not know you were only 19 I hope its not too upsetting...

Please, please take this as far as you can. I really hate when things like this happen.

Pretty much word for word what i was going to say. It seems like the school are trying to force you out because they're concerned that your private life with these 6th formers will cause more problems. ie. like stupid ****ing 16 year old girls shouting out ridiculous things, but meaning that the school has to investigate every single allegation.

Also, IMO, i think they're doing it because of your age as well.

Btw, for the 3rd time, have you smashed any pasty's or hooked up with any of them in any way?

EDIT: just read that you only know a couple of them through friend of friends.

DO NOT ANSWER THE PASTY QUESTION. DO NOT CONTINUE DISCUSSING ANY DETAILS FUTHER ON HERE.

Some people..

This thread worries me, im in the same job situation as this guy. (im 19, work in a high school/sixth form) and i also know some sixth formers via friends i knew before i started here, i also often see them when im out in clubs with my friends. I realy hope this kinda thing doesn't happen to me.

:-/ i think it's ok if you only ever mingle/see the 6th formers, because if they're 6th formers, they're likely to be slightly smarter and realise the damage allegations can bring, when compared to the yr10 slapper who shouts stuff out for jokes.

Not yet, but after reading this it seems like a good idea.

I'd do it today. Don't put it off because you are in a very precarious position. You're not like the other teachers/technicians who only ever see the kids at school during work time. All a yr10 girl has to say is that they saw you pulling one of their friends and you'll be so deep in the doo-doo, you'll need a snorkel.

It's things like this that makes me never want to work in a school.

Unlucky mate, but definitely get some legal advice.
Good luck.

I've just seen this thread and read all 10 pages through from beginning to end and I am absolutely appalled at how things have turned out for you today mate. I would follow the advice given in this thread, get yourself representation/council and go at them with the force of an angry god.

Seriously, this is an absolute crock. There has to be some avenue you can take at this point to try and get a little justice...

As soon as you speak to a Solicitor they will make you feel so much better. Not that they are there for you sympathetically. The sheer facts they will be presented with will give them a field day and you will soon see justice. Also phone the Union NOW. I feel sorry for you that this has happened. They wonder why there is a lack of teachers these days.

They say 'inappropriate conduct' - that doesnt really mean much, did they explain exactly what they thought was inappropriate?

If they did not, you should certainly demand they expand on this in wrighting.

Fight the power.

I can't believe that, if what you've told us is true they're willing to dismiss you over it.

You've done nothing wrong, other then have a false complaint lodged against you, and be social towards a few people in sixth form. Which imo, neither are worthy dismissing you over.

Unless their is something you're not telling us.

I'd seek legal advise personally and take this as far as I could.

Folks, this now between him and his legal advisor - not for your personal curiosity.

I think that's for him or a mod to decide . After all he started the thread so I assume welcomed discussion on the matter, he doesn't have to reply if he doesn't want to, and some of the information that arises in here might be helpful to others in the same situation.

Well, I'm back, but minus a job....

Essentially, what happened was a yr 10 girls decided to shout out in a lesson that her mate slept with me, and the teacher reported it.

Thankfully, she admitted it was a lie, so I'm not getting arrested.

So, essentially, I've just lost my job for doing nothing wrong at all. :(

That cannot put anything on your record as it was a proven lie. There is nothing to put on your record so they cannot dismiss you, that is unfair dismissal.

BUT because of this, and because I know a couple of the 2nd year 6th formers (I'm only 19, before anyone gets the wrong idea), they decided to give me the choice of being dismissed for inappropriate contact with 6th form students (the 3 I know I was friends with before I even started working there, and the school knew that when they employed me), or resigning with a clean record.

And if your sure there is nothing that happened between those m8's and you then I'd get the union involved now because they gave you an unfair situation and I hope you haven't given them an answer because that is BS.
