Seemingly major problem at work...

You're in a really rotten situation buddy but despite the natural urge to fight it I think the better long term solution is probably to walk away with your head held high. Even though you would probably ultimately be vindicated if you pursued it things could get pretty messy and stressful I would imagine.

Good grief man - what a terrible accusation! Where on earth did I say that in my post?!? I was mearly promoting OcUK - jeez, some people here need to get out a bit more often... :(

I don't know perhaps it was maybe you doing this -

In your time off you could go t the OCUK shop and go on a spending spree! Probably an excellent day out. :)

Creepy teacher got locked up in my school coz of some lad saying he touched him. Everyone believed him now, then last week, he's released as the lad said he made it up. School won't let the teacher back though lol, too worried about reputation!

not lol :(

sorry to hear this OP :(

Do you have anything in writing as to why they got rid of you ?

Surely if the reasons are false he still has grounds for unfair dismissal ?

I used to work in a School and to be honest its a very thin line you walk.
The week I started a Janitor got his books purely because a pupil reported him for "looking at her."

No investigation.
See you later.
He was still within his 6 month Probation, so he didn't have a leg to stand on.

Unfortunately that's the way it seems to be, sure its terrible for the OP (if he is indeed as innocent as he claims to be) and of course others who are not guilty of doing anything.
I think that they need to be rather strict however as there needs to be Zero Tolerance on these issues.
They would rather get rid of all possible inflammations of trouble rather than have one incident. It makes sense.

Well, I'm back, but minus a job....

Essentially, what happened was a yr 10 girls decided to shout out in a lesson that her mate slept with me, and the teacher reported it.

Thankfully, she admitted it was a lie, so I'm not getting arrested.

BUT because of this, and because I know a couple of the 2nd year 6th formers (I'm only 19, before anyone gets the wrong idea), they decided to give me the choice of being dismissed for inappropriate contact with 6th form students (the 3 I know I was friends with before I even started working there, and the school knew that when they employed me), or resigning with a clean record.

So, essentially, I've just lost my job for doing nothing wrong at all. :(

unlucky dude.... really gutted for ya!

he's on 6 month probation

they can fire him for whatever reason they want. I agree with the OP, i think resigning with a clean record was the best bet.

of course they can

but they didnt

instead they decided to dirty his name by pretty much accusing him of things he did not do. surely thats not supposed to be allowed to happen ? (although maybe it is)

That's pretty much the long and short of it.

Resigning with no mark on my record and putting it down to experience seems a good option to be fair, mainly because, If I do take legal action against them, they could quite easily mark it on my record, sell the story to the papers etc, which would just make the situation worse than it already is.

Although, saying that, I'm still in two minds about it, so obviously put that it was forced on my letter of resignation, just incase I do decided to 'take them to the cleaners'.

Are you really sure that there won't be a mark on your record? Is the school allowed to not make a formal note of it? After all, you've been accused of a serious sex crime against a "child" (the accusation was retracted, but it was made) and you've been sacked for inappropriate contact with children. Sure, it's all bull**** and none of them are children anyway, but can a school choose to not record stuff like that? Are they just lying about the records to get rid of you quietly? I suggest asking the CAB for advice.

Make an official complaint to the school, make something up along the lines of the headmaster had confessed to you that he had been having an inappropiate relationship with a minor.... revenge!
