Self defence within the home petition

All of the above and then some. I'll be putting the heads of burglars on pikes outside my home.

...and I think you'll fnd it works as an effective deterrent against robberies in the future. :D Who needs burglar alarms that go off when you're out and annoy the neighbours?

You could even do it tastefully, with like a rockery or something around the pike, and have a nice fountain of water flowing from the intruders screaming mouth.

a) I don't read the Daily Mail, except maybe when its linked on here for comedy purposes.
Maybe you should apply for a job as this is just the sort of tripe there readers lap up.

b) If an intruder on someones property gets beaten within an inch of his life, well I feel no sympathy for them. They wouldn't have gotten the beating if they took the simple option of not breaking into someones house.
Where do you draw the line, what if I catch them trying to break in or just on the way up my drive looking like they may break in? Maybe a tramp sleeping in my garden or a kid playing knock a door run should be fair game?

c) A small "insignificant" number of innocent people simply defending their own property is still too many in my mind. Why should you just let some other ******* take it?
Find me a figure for the number of cases that A actually make it to court B result in a conviction and C were not someone taking the mick and beating an intruder sensless. I think you will find the figure is statistically insignificant.

d) If people were allowed to beat others that brreak into their property senseless, then it might well put criminals off breaking in in the first place.
No it would make criminals more inclined to carry weapons to defend themselves which massively increases the risk of you loosing a lot more than the plasma TV.

Damn it, we got caught lol. They have removed the petition, my dreams and hopes of sticking yobs onto pikes has been utterly and swiftly demolished :(

pointless tbh... you're already allowed to use reasonable force to defend yourself under UK law

stupid petition for mouth-breathing tabloid readers who get worked up about pedophiles, immigrants etc...

Sweet, I'll keep that in mind. Do you know if there are more jobs there or less due to the recession?

Nah, anything beyond the front door step should be considered "fair game". Including salesmen and jehovahs witnesses tbh.

Find me a figure for the number of cases that A actually make it too court B result in a conviction and C were not someone taking the mick and beating an intruder sensless. I think you will find the figure is statistically insignificant.

No? Too much effort and I'm far to busy trying to eye up customers cleavage at work to bother reading boring statistics.

They already carry bloody weapons! You're not going to get any more hurt if hes carrying 2 guns rather than one.

Quick! Make a petition to bring the petition back! :D

Lol.

Regardless of the Law anyone who enters my domain deserves to die in my eyes. :p

Police baton, combat knifes, swords all within reach of my bed. Of course they are only for display purposes.

Signing the petition :D of course it brings up problem if it is allowed, but might solve the "I broke my arm climbing through his window, that is why I sued him" ** Maybe not it don't work anymore**

OK a task for the people who signed this, or who agree with it: find three cases where a householder has been successfully prosecuted for defending their property (or person whilst inside their own house). Please note that the Tony Martin case is excluded because shooting people in the back as they run away is not defending anything.

Go on, it should be easy according to the views here.

Yeah, well personally I'm sick and tired of seeing innocent people dragged up in front of court over little thieving buggers who break into their property and get hurt.

So you want it entirely down to the police on the scene?:confused:

So lets say I invite you in, or drag you off the street then carve a few chunks out of you with a knife, under this law As long as i said you broke in, I would never see court because "you broke in".

You need the courts and an investigation to make sure the home owners storey is the correct one.

Giving them carte Blanche is just silly.

I haven't the slightest clue how you'd even begin to search for this sort of thing. Besides its too much effort for a bit of light trolling.
