When you want to truly immerse yourself in your game, you need superior comfort and high-fidelity audio
reproduction. If you want to enjoy your gaming experience to the fullest, you’ll love the captivating, realistic
sound of Sennheiser’s new GSP 500: The newest addition to the audio specialist’s acclaimed range of gaming
headsets, GSP 500 is an open acoustic headset that offers an incredibly natural and spacious sound, improved
microphone performance, and increased comfort and durability.

Featuring a new, improved open speaker system designed and manufactured by Sennheiser, GSP 500 delivers a
brilliantly natural sound performance with excellent clarity and pure realism. Its enhanced low frequency
response adds further impact to the gaming audio while specially-positioned transducers inside the ear cups
channel audio signals directly into the ears to ensure the best possible spatial representation of the gaming
environment.

The new headset features a range of enhancements to ensure superb comfort even during long gaming
sessions. It includes an all-new ear pad design and an innovative adjustable headband to customize contact
pressure, as well as an advanced hinge system for a better fit. The new, more ergonomic design of the
breathable ear pad mirrors the shape of the ear to enhance wearing comfort. As well as improving sound
reproduction, the open design of the GSP 500 includes ventilated ear cups that help keep ears cool. Sennheiser
has also used a new soft fabric on the padded ear pads for a pleasant, cooler feeling that ensures brilliant
wearing comfort.

The GSP 500 features an advanced, solid metal hinge system that gives even more freedom of movement, and
increases the durability for which Sennheiser products are renowned. This 2-axle mechanism improves the fit
for a wider range of face shapes by pivoting smoothly to conform just as well to both narrow and broad
jawlines. To better adapt to different head sizes, Sennheiser has integrated an innovative Adjustable Contact
Pressure mechanism into the headband that can be adjusted according to each user’s preference to ensure the
headset feels perfectly snug and secure without ever feeling too tight.

The GSP 500 also provides an advanced broadcast quality microphone with high-quality noise cancellation. This
ensures crystal-clear communication, and can be quickly muted by lifting the boom arm. Volume control
integrated directly onto the ear cup offers a similar level of convenient control for on-the-fly adjustment during
gameplay.

The GSP 500 is multi-platform compatible for gaming with PC, Mac, as well as consoles featuring a 3.5 mm jack
input. Use with lower-powered devices is improved thanks to reduced impedance.

Can you find out if they are planning on a USB version like the 373D?

Not sure about the looks of these, but they will no doubt have market leading sound for a 'gaming' headset in the £200 price bracket.

Sound they will be up there of course, Sennheiser wouldn't put there name on anything which wasn't up to par acoustically.

Aesthetically they are very "futuristic"...

I think they look alright almost good but I think they'd need more premium materials for that look to really shine.

Do like the lift to mute feature though on those headsets.

Aside from the sound quality the best thing about the Sennheiser higher end gaming headsets is that they actually fit around your ears. Most of the other manufacturers seem to think we have round ears.

The only bad thing is the tendency of the volume dial on the side to start crackling when the potentiometer inside gets dusty. A quick blow into the gap around the dial ever few weeks does the trick, but they really could improve their kit by making it more resistant to dust or easier to clean. The size of holes in the mesh in that photo in the OP does not fill me with confidence however.

Agree about the ear cups. 5 headsets in 4 years and my GSP300's are the comfiest I've had.

Been using the GSP600's for about 2-3 weeks now, I can say these will be awesome if you're into the open back design. They're bloody comfy and they sound great.

Got the new gsp 600's which feel super premium compared with my 373d which broke. Sound quality is great and I'm told the mic quality is better too. Think I still prefer open back as I end up talking really loud with closed, might give these 500s a go.

Have you tried them with the 373's USB dongle?

Nope, didn't think to try before sending the 373s back. The usb dongle was always temperamental for me anyway. Randomly stopped registering properly and letting me switch to 7.1, even after repeated driver and software reinstalls.

Power of the gsp 600s is fine through my motherboard though, obviously dependent on what you plug them into.
