Seriously...

Well it would be better for society if the homeless were just left to die off instead of feeding them and helping them.

I imagine there's more to this than was reported. If it's a 'mass feeding' then you can understand it could cause disruptions in certain places and thus should be properly organised in a designated area.

By the sounds of it from that video they aren't interested in actually helping the homeless more using them as a springboard/soapbox for their stupid hippie poitical beliefs. Lock'em up, preferably in the Miami prison from Louis Theroux.

They need a permit to feed in a park, they haven't got one. What's the problem. Go feed them somewhere else. Which doesn't spoil the park for everyone else.

Lol controversial statement :p

It was a bit tongue-in-cheek as you may have guessed, I don't think that all homeless people are worthless but I bet a lot of them are.

Exactly. I certainly wouldn't want a swarm of tramps hanging around a park that people pay tax on to keep clean.

I bet a lot of homeless people are actually there because they threw their lives away due to drugs etc, they shouldn't get too much sympathy.

Almost as bad as the Amish guy who got arrested for selling raw milk.

Lots of stupid laws governing distribution of food lately, I don't like where it's headed.

Is it really that hard to show some compassion?

Sure some might not be very deserving of it for various reasons of their own doing that caused their plight. But there will be other totally innocent people that have fell on hard times for whatever reason.

But maybe if we want to make society a better place like another poster commented. We should be rid of those selfish people without any shred of compassion, that would probably help.

After all a 'society' would imply some sort of togetherness these selfish people would inherently lack.

I see your point, I know I wouldn't enjoy it if I was walking through the park and it was full of smelly homeless people either if I'm being perfectly honest. But the fact is they're HOMELESS, it's a public space, so not only do they have a right to be there but it's one of the FEW places they can be in... If there's so many of them that it's ruining the park then that just means that the city has some very serious homelessness issues, and having the police move them along just to stop them from being eyesores is basically completely ignoring the problem - it's like putting mascara on someone who's had his eyeball gouged out!

This ordinance was obviously intended to stop homeless people from gathering in the park. If this group were forced to rent a space they'd obviously not be able to afford to offer as many meals to them, so enforcing a law which effectively bans homeless people from a public space for being an eyesore, just so some local politician makes himself look as if he's dealing with homelessness, when all he's doing is sweeping it under the rug, is pretty damn hypocritical!

They've apparently been feeding the homeless for 7 years. If their intent was to just use them as a political soapbox they were REALLY playing the long game!

I heard they were putting baking soda in the food and hobos were exploding all over the place

Evil conspiracy finally unfoiled! :p Hats off to you sir! :)
