Incredibly, this is the 100th edition of the news! Didn’t think I’d last this long to be honest… To mark the occasion, I've added a couple of graphs that show our progress in terms of total credit and RAC since my first news post over two years ago. (In case anyone's wondering, the large spike in the RAC graph around edition 80 was a result of the increase in activity whilst the gauntlet was taking place.)

Welcome to the new members, and as always congrats to the tiffy winners! Don’t forget that you can get your tiffies from www.teamocuk.co.uk; simply click on your username, scroll to the bottom of the page and use the relevant urls to display them in all their Technicolor beauty on this forum! If you think you have been missed off the milestones list, please let me know and I’ll add you manually.

Well done TT for the news and keeping it up a hundred times over, i'll be around for the 200th well done and ta muchly:)

Thanks edgedemon...my main machine is averaging 8000 the average work is 11000 so am guessing the remainder is the left over credit from the redundant machines....i think it will receive a significant boost fairly soon ;):D

Yup thats a big un allright 10,000,000 wow br83taylor and the new members welcome all.
The planetary society - hmm i think with a bit of extra effort on all our parts thats easily doable - lets do it.
I can pledge my output to increase 50% by friday.

Mr Tross sah... in order of your dedication to the seti news on your one hundredth outing we think ya deserve a little something....drop us your details in an email and the following will be on its way - thanks to phil at ocuk who's first comment to me was "we were number one you know"

Somehow I doubt it :(

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=59638#989400

And a bigger one: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=59286#989727

Basically Fermi is not working for Seti now or for the immediate future. It could be that the Lunatics optimized client will be recompiled with Cuda 3.0 which could help but only Raistmer can do that, and hes just started looking at it today.
[edit]
And it looks like hes not having much luck :( http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=166406&view=findpost&p=1041231
[/edit]

Basically for CUDA whether it be Folding@Home or Seti@Home these GTX4xx cards are FUBAR until some big time testing and release of new clients is done.

Oh bugger....well all is not lost, it sounds like a work in progress am sure it will come to fruition sooner or later. In the meantime i have upgraded my pc's so output should go up regrdless of fermi i can only try and at least the hardware will be in place for when it is possible. Thanks for those links biffa, makes an interesting read if not dissapointing, looks like back to the drawing board and trolling the bay for something in the meantime, so as it stands 480's are fubar but would the 1500mb ddr5 ram still show some good results in comparison to 295 or 285, i have been searching for some kind of info but nothing substantial, to make matters worse a 300 mile round trip to get the damn things to find out theyre fubar is not sitting to well in the tbag camp - but h'onward and h'upward as they say :)

Nice one, damn shame about the immaediate outlook for fermi and crunching but got a few anyways for a dedicated gaming setup, hadn't played a game since i started to crunch. So by end of today i should have my ideal setup for bioshock 2 in 3d and an extra machine crunching for the cause. Ta for email have replied. :D

We're all doomed once the Fermi's can be brought on stream. However you have one small issue, someone's nicked the memory

And thanks TT for the news. Great stuff long may it all continue.

So much for the ideal setup. Got a new mobo and case for q6600 that at least is working.
Am sat looking at 2 i7 930's neither of which is working. Theyre both a mirror image of each other but as i was putting 2 480's in a gaming setup i thought it best to use the 1500w psu....pop and a hard drive died. Machine number 2...installed a corsair 800 watt and all i have is power to the board nothing else is working. Have been on the phone to ocuk and the only day they can guarantee a walk in repair service is saturday so it looks like another 6 days with £3000 worth of pc doing nowt, my apologies to all as i cant contribute untill these things are up and running and have done the second 300 mile round trip in a week...sad days. I will make it up and theres no way i am going to let this put me off crunching but for now theres nothing i can do unless theres a pc guru that lives nearabouts.

:(:(:(

This doesn't sound good.... from your posts I gather you have:
1) q6600 based machine, everything working?
2) 2 480s which you aren't sure are working
3) 2 psus which you are also not sure of working?
if thats roughly the case, then i'd ask what psu and mobo you have running the q6600- can it power 1 480? if yes, then you can run that naked for a couple of days, even if the 480s don't fit the case :p
seriously though, I'd guess you want to make sure the 2x 480 work absolutely fine seperately first before hunting down other culprits.
