:confused: Are you running a two hour buffer?
The downloads that had been clogged for days all released in the last few hours here.
 
I'm not sure about the buffer, Im not sure how to check, ill have a look tomorrow. i do have it set to 9 days work but I take it this is different
 
Yeah it is the same thing.

Richard Haselgrove made some nice spiel here showing why we should have the network usage connection setting higher than 0 for the minimum, so if you want 9 days work you should have the connection setting at 3 and 6 for the additional work.

Still doesn't explain why you ran out so quick but I have about 2000 tasks with only 4+2 set for my buffer.

Can you check that you don't have any local preferences set, as they would supercede the settings shown on the web page and have been known to cause confusement.
If you have these, somewhere near the top of the logfile you would see a message ' Reading preferences override file '
Do 'advanced' 'preferences' 'clear' in Boinc manager to wipe them (don't know if that's still right in the latest client version)
 
Worth checking your hard disk isn't full, that's what happened to me when I kept running out of tasks :)
 
Trying desperately not to slack but 1 mobo on rma and waiting for 2nd replacement on another.
On the plus side i have figured out how to alleviate the boredom at 4am .... craft knives and fablon :)



Finally i have at least 1 working machine :)

Thanks for the input, this morning i noticed it did have around 20 cpu taks with no cuda ones, ive now come home and changed my connection settings to those suggested. I did have some local preferences set, so i cleared them and re set the connection settings and now its telling me no tasks available, although it did say that prior to fiddling, so ill keep an eye on it, oh hard drive space shouldnt be an issue at 90gb spare.
 
Glad to see your all back up and running as per usual Mr marine, me well it couldn't get any worse rig wise am really struggling i know how you feel when it all goes kapputz!!:)
Any of you have any use for this

Tis a good day another year older today I almost forgot were it not for my email inbox to be full of company/forum messages wishing me a happy one lol :D Must be the old age setting in already :(
 
grats on another notch on the milestone marine :)

My output will approach almost nil in the next two weeks, so pnutty can have a right go at kicking me off the top 10.

I am off to the Czech Republic, hopefully it will be much sunnier than this in a weeks time, to get hitched. Can you believe I have to turn up almost a whole week earlier to sign in some police station to say that I am legally in the country?? Bah. After that, my parents will be visiting the flat, so computing power and time will be cut, as I loose control of the room.

So this is me signing off for now....
 
Congratulations on getting hitched :) I hope that you don't get any crunching kit in the form of presents so I can stay ahead when I finally get there ;)
 
I think something is up with my setup, I'm down to my last couple of tasks, I did a manual update and it didn't request anymore work, its odd how its worked fine for ages until around the time I updated the client.

Running single GPU Client @ 96% (560 ti OC @ 1000mhz) - significant improvement over 0.37 app.

5 min wu's now completing in 3 mins........

In fact it's so good I just purchased shiney item (only B Grade) to take advantage of it - might see if I can get back in the Top Ten for a bit.

Heck am not sure what to suggest k3v except maybe backup your boinc folder and do a fresh install with the new optimised apps?

Ill re-install it tonight with the new optimised apps. What do i need to back up and if i dont, what happens? Do i just loos a certain amount of credit?
