I have similar within the Skynews & Sky Sport app. Worked fine for years
next plex/jellyfin and r/datahordersHe is on the path!
Will discover Docker next and then want a cheap SFF business PC with an intel quicksync CPU off ebay to run it on.
Similar here. I had it as a lxc container but moved it to a Pi. Still have the container as a backup though.Had mine running in proxmox but recently moved it back to a dedicated Pi3b. Find it easier on it's own hardware.
It's built into the Slate AX GL.iNet router I use as a WAP in my network setup, though it's not currently enabled as my OpnSense box does all heavy work and blocking. There simply isn't enough memory or storage to run more than a few block lists when AdGuard is enabled on the Slate AX. Previously I had a PCEngines APU2 with 4GB of memory and a 1TB mSATA SSD in it that had no problem running it. But anything with ARM chips, and tiny capacity memory and storage makes it an impossible to run. I honestly don't know why they bother including it as a package other than it being a feature and people not realising it's severely limited by memory and storage limitations. My router has something called AdGuard built in which is meant to be like PiHole. Haven't tested it yet though although freeing up the RPi would be nice as I could do some interesting things with it.
Interesting. Thank you. I have the GL-iNET Flint 4 router but I'm sure if it can run it. I guess I can just stick to PiHole for the time being. It's built into the Slate AX GL.iNet router I use as a WAP in my network setup, though it's not currently enabled as my OpnSense box does all heavy work and blocking. That has much better specs than the Slate AX I have. You have storage and memory measured in GB rather than MB. 2GB of DDR4 memory and 64GB of eMMC to be precise. It should be able to handle running AdGuard with all the major block lists you'd want/need. My AX on the other hand has 512MB of DDR3L and 128MB of NAND flash. More than a few blocklists enabled in adguard and my Slate AX chokes.GL-iNET Flint 4
In that case I'll give it a go. I've wanted to do other things on my RPi for sometime anyway so that'll be good. That has much better specs than the Slate AX I have. Depending on your Pi specs, you absolutely can use it for other things as well as run PiHole with the beauty of containers (Docker). My Pi5 runs Adguard Home, Flightradar24 tracking, Sponsor Block for YouTube and some other things. In that case I'll give it a go. Yeah. I want to run an IRC bouncer and possibly PostgreSQL on it. I'm sure I'll think of other things to put on it.Depending on your Pi specs, you absolutely can use it for other things as well as run PiHole with the beauty of containers (Docker). Software or hardware? What do you use for flightradar?
There's two options really, the first being you use FR24's Pi image, or you can install using their scripts on most OSs which is what I did. There's nothing to watch on a screen though, it uses ADS-B receiver and antenna to give data to FR24. In turn, I get a free contributor account that acts the same way as the paid for business account. You can then install something like wiedehopf/tar1090 which will give you a local web page view of what your receiver is reporting.software, I assume you're tracking rather than just viewing but I wanted something to have on screen like a screensaver considering the pi is always on anyway![]()
There's also a tracking OS image within the official imager app. Makes it easier feed multiple destinations. There's two options really, the first being you use FR24's Pi image, or you can install using their scripts on most OSs which is what I did. I'm sure there are options for displaying FR24 on a Pi screen, but it's not what I use it for - it's headless in my loft.
Too much. You should only need the Hagezi ones and you may find with the pro plus you'll have to whitelist.
I just use the pro with tif and don't run into any issues but YMMV.
