Settling an argument with a Don

Chilli meatball beans with Vintage cheddar on Toast

Use a range of cheese sizes, heat until the small and medium pieces have melted into the sauce but the big pieces are still mostly solid and pour over the toast.

Num num num...

i dont like cheese, so its just beans on the toast.
if the missus makes some its cheese on top of the beans, so the don wins

Pah, cheese on toast if for weaklings - Cheese-on-beans-on-cheese-on-toast is where it's at.
Do toast (white)... add butter (yes BUTTER), add grated MATURE cheddar.. Add mixed herbs (optional I suppose). Grill.. Meanwhile, heat the beans (DO NOT MICROWAVE!!). Remove cheese on toast when cheese is starting to brown. Add the beans. Add lots of black pepper (optional). Add dried chilli flakes (optional). Add lots of grated cheese. Add pepper (yes, a second coating).
DONE.

You could grill the top layer of cheese if you want but I for one like the grilled and non grilled combo.

Oh, and putting a few slices of waff'r thin ham under the original cheese is good too.

Put the beans in a pan, add brown sauce, sweet chilli sauce, cheese, black pepper and a dash of ketchup. Pour onto 2 slices of generously buttered thick toast, sprinkle more grated cheese on and then devour.

Do not knock it until you've tried it, it's absolute win.
