Settling an argument with a Don

I just have toast, beans then put the cheese on last.

Then let the heat melt it. No burnt beans, and lovely melted cheese :D

I don't understand why you put that
Do you think that the people who do it properly and put the cheese on first then put beans on and put it under the grill?

Well the missus is out on Friday night. I maybe doing Andrew Moore a disservice here (doubt it) so I am going to try the alternative method. I may indulge in a couple of slices of Streaky Bacon for good measure.

Sorry Loki, but I always go for the Toast -> Beans -> Cheese method.

I am, however, intrigued at your way and could very well give that one a go to see if I have been missing out :p

Well the OP is obviously wrong and the cheese must go over the beans in any civilised society ;)

The other toast related snacks I've had recently:

toast > really well fried mushrooms > cheese

toast > tuna surprise (*) > cheese

(*) cook together and place in the toast before cheesing a mixture of tuna, finely chopped yellow pepper, finely chopped jalapeños all fried off in mixture of soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce (to taste)

I melt the cheese into the beans as they are cooking and mix it all up. This gives a smooth all rounded cheese finish.

Used to do this a lot at Uni, (with added chilli to give it a bit of a kick), then put it in a bowl and eat piping hot by dunking in half slices of toast.

The Don's right :-) Toast, then microwaved beans then grated cheese. No need to re-grill, as the microwaved beans will melt the cheese. Alternatively, I'll have an egg on my 2nd piece of toast over the beans, while keeping cheese over the beans on the 1st piece.

Bloody weirdo's.
You obviously make cheese on toast and then pour on the beans that you heated up on the hob (or in the microwave).
Anything else and you're pretending to be a metrosexual ponce.

Well...

As I have been summoned to this discussion i would like to point out that I believe that grated cheese, melted on the top is key to the perfect beans on toast with cheese... Neil (Loki), cheese on toast is a gift, ruinming it with beans on the top creating a soggy mess is in my book not allowed. :p

Toast, then beans on top, then grated cheese sprinkled over the top.

However the beans needs some worcester sauce adding when on the hob! Microwaved beans are gash too.

The fact that he's a don couldn't be less relevant...

Oh, and I agree with him.

Indeed, but the fact that he's a don, means twice as many people will have clicked on this thread....

Personally, I hate beans, and therefore concur with pizza toast:
You're both wrong.

The correct combination is: thick sourdough bread, French butter, smoked ham, sun dried Spanish tomato, fresh pineapple, mozzarella cheese, and Italian herbs.

Your mistake was to introduce beans in the first place.

Although without the fancyness...

But if I had to choose, I think I'd go toast - beans - cheese.

Having the cheese encasing the beans sounds nicer :)
