Seymour Hersh wrote after his investigation he believes that the Nordstream pipeline was blown up by the US government, it can be fully read on his substack or many other up to date places of information.

Truth or fiction?

One thing I will say it is a curious case when you consider objectively who has the ability, motivation and gains from it - it comes down to a rather small number of entities none of which tick all the boxes and/or for instance the US had assets very overtly in the area when they could have done it completely covertly, maybe they wanted to send a message or double-bluff but neither really makes sense, etc. etc.

When it comes down to it, does it really matter. It was shut down, it was severely unlikely to start up again. It removed a major bargaining chip for Russia. If Russia took it out it was an own goal and a favor to Europe. If US took it out they did Europe a favor and removed a liability. We are better off without it.

This but it does matter. Maybe it will be released in 50 years time when something is declassified.
I don't think it's a good way to go about using political/military influence and then openly denying all knowledge.
I' am pretty certain an allied government blew it up and Logic says the US.

It was obvious to anyone with a cranial capacity greater than a macaque that it was the USA that did this, but unfortunately those who voiced their opinion were shouted down as tin-foil hatters and conspiracy theorists.

Next folks will be surprised and outraged that Pfizer were milking the covid cash cow for all its worth, and conducting "directed evolution" research, with their ONLY concern the bottom line profits for the company, and no actual regard for human health..... oh wait......! Funny how THAT story gets buried, and no doubt this one will be also.

I'm no conspiracy theorist either, but people need to start realising that the people who are making these huge geo-political decisions, and those that run hyper-scale pharma companies, simply are NOT your friends, and more than likely are straying into the realms of psychopathy with their scant regard for the common person.

I think this was a shocking thing for the US to do, and simply gives its enemies even more reason to hate them.

My personal opinion is we should have never cut off the russian gas supply, but simply forced the unit price so low, that it was almost free like happened in Russia internally. We could have avoided all the recessions and panicked price rises and grotesque profiteering, and STILL forward planned to wean the EU off Russian supplies, and not crippled our economies and output in the process.

The sanctions seem to have made bugger all difference in the grand scheme of things so far.

Doesn't make much sense to me for the US to have done it.
NS2 was dead in the water due to sanctions and the war.
Russians switched off NS1, they say for lack of some turbine part which the rest of the world called BS on. Russian suppliers not meeting their quotas in breach of contrac.... BOOM the thing blows up. Both pipes of NS1 and one on NS2 leaving part of NS2 operational if wanted. Oh that's convenient!

Now who had to gain more here? Weigh that against the US doing it to stop supply (assuming it was flowing, which it wasn't) for the few months it would take to replace the sections damaged. The pros don't exactly outweigh the cons of the repercussions that would be held against the US for directly attacking the infrastructure of a close trading partner and military ally. For what, a brief uptick in liquid gas supply?! Are you mental?!

But my side is better than yours and only I know the truth.

Knowing the long US history of international meddling, I can't completely rule it out as fiction. But without any evidence to support the claim, I can't take it as truth.

Just LOL if we don't need an IP check, aisle 9.

e: noobs.

Given what's coming out about the sheer scale of corruption in Russia I'm wondering if this is just someone disguising corners having been cut on its construction by ensuring its never used. Or maybe someone wasn't handing over a kickback quickly enough and needed to be slapped into line. Its a mafia state and punishing their own to keep them in line isn't exactly uncommon.

Idle speculation on my part. Zero evidence.

Show me the evidence.
