Tory MP Damian Green, who was arrested as part of an inquiry over Home Office leaks, will not face charges.

There was "insufficient evidence" to bring a court case against the shadow immigration minister, the Crown Prosecution Service said.

Christopher Galley, the Home Office worker who leaked information to Mr Green, will not face charges either.

It is strange is it not, that it is OK for a Tory sympathiser to leak information to a Tory MP but quite wrong for New Labour to attempt to smear Tory MPs - they are all, without exception, a bunch of devious crooks :mad:

Leaking true information that is of public interest is entirely different to spreading lies, surely you can see that?

Glad that no-one is being charged but that civil servant's position is now untenable and he must be sacked. Civil servants are not supposed to be political.

Erm yes but that particular defence was outlawed by the Tories in response to someone leaking information about the sinking of the Belgrano, so the response from that patry is 100% hypocritical bordering on farcial. They should reinstate it as a defence though I think.
