Shadowrun Returns - Kickstarter Thread

Sadly I'm out at the gym shortly and probably celebrating a friend's job interview thang afterwards. May have to waste my day off work tomorrow by playing computer games :p

Created my first char, decker/shadow runner :) Can see myself being sucked into this world tonight. Very slick look to the interface/text content.

Elf decker/shadowrunner for me. Loving the combat.

Clicking Shadowrun Returns to actually in-game is about 4 seconds max...just as it should be!

Reviews are favorable, the main problem seems to be that you cannot save on the fly and the checkpoints for doing are extremely far apart. It comes with a full editor so I'm sure wonders will be worked and silly things sorted out quickly.

This is really, and I mean really rough around the edges!

One question- How do you know when it autosaves?...I haven't seen any notification at all. I just quit after entering somewhere, I assume it saved it...

Top left hand corner just like when you complete objectives. Blink and you will miss it though.

You think? I've not had any stability problems with it.

Other than some things not being explained very clearly and a few things like no manual save, I've no complaints. I think it's great so far. :)

Running really well on OSX. I would like the option to manually increase the text size, and still have a high resolution. Only other gripe is no manual save.

I'm rather enjoying it so far. Feels like a classic RPG :)

Apparently autosaves are every 30 minutes, wtf wtb an actual save option, or the option to autosave when changing areas / zoning.

Stuttering a bit every now and then on windows 7 for me, loved the snes original and want to really sink my teeth into this, shame i have to be back at work in 8 hours for a 15 hour shift.

I think it needs polish tbh. The inventory/UI in general poor, and as you say, not explained very well(bought some armour and didn't know how to equip it at first) , hardly anything in the game is interactive(you will never be stuck wondering what to do next!). Also, I find the movement a little restrictive.

It is good though, but a little rough imo. The story is interesting so far, and I really like the combat.

P's. The no manual save thing seems bizarre to me...why not let you F5 when you want to!?

Just about to jump in for a few minutes before bed. Without having actually played it I quite like the idea of a save system you can't control (without at least quitting the game). I relish the idea of not being able to consta-save before every little battle/decision.

edit: I'm sure once I play I will change my tune of course ;)
