Shall i get a PS3?

Ok guys got some money burning a hole in my pocket and have the urge to spend...(even though i probably shouldnt).

Anyway, is it a good time to get a PS3? i see most deals have GT5:P with the console.. however are there any good deals out there?

Also, are sony going to be releasing a new revision of the PS3 anytime soon, ie one with more usb ports and a larger HDD ?? Is there going to be a GTAIV pack at all?

I have a 360 and am thinking of trading in some old crappy games and getting GTA IV on the 360...but i might want to get it on the PS3 if its any better on the PS3.. decisions decisions!!!

Help me decide!
 
Make your own mind up :p ;) - not meaning to be harsh, but the decision is obviously up to you, and this thread will probably come down to ps3 vs 360 or whatever eventually ...
 
AHave a look at the games and future games on each console and make your own mind up. If you like watching bluray movies then it might be something to consider aswell.

According to IGN, it runs slightly better on the PS3, in part due to HDD caching.

On the flip side, the 360 version is going to have supposedly exclusive downloadable content.
 
Just because it doesn't seem to have been answered, yes there's a GTA bundle out on Tuesday I think.

I've got both a 360 and PS3 and up until three/four months ago I was playing 80% 360, 20% PS3. This has changed to the point that I've not turned on my 360 since then and with the games out and coming out in the near future it's not likely to change. If it wasn't for Fable 2 and the fact that my wife got me GH3 on the 360 I'd probably consider getting rid.
 
I'm no fanboy, I've had all three next-gen consoles. The Wii amused me for five minutes before it got sold. The Xbox 360 I've had for about 18 months and the PS3 for about 6 months. I was like Bhoya in that my 360 usage declined and PS3 usage went up - so much so that the 360 has now been sold.

Although the PS3 may not have the expansive library of games, it's a bonus having such great media playback - Blu-ray Disc and a drive on which you can store your own video. It's now starting to hold its own with games and I'm really looking forward to Resistance 2!

Anyway If you want to get a PS3 and afford it then why not? Sony may release another PS3 version this year but no one knows, if i was to hazard a guess it would be nearer Christmas/ November time though. PS3 does run slightly better, and looks slightly better according to several sources but i wouldnt get a PS3 just to play GT4 on when i had a 360. I would get a PS3 if i wanted to play games like MGS4, GT5, FF13 etc, if those games and any other of Sony's line up dont interest you then I'd stick with your 360. Regarding GTA4 though, you could as other suggest get in for PS3 now, and wait till nearer the DLC time and pick it up cheap on the 360.

Buy the ps3, Now is a good time to sell your 360 (seeing as you are thinking of trading in your old games) and using that money to further fund your ps3 purchase.

There is a GTA 4 pack which is between £299 and £319, off the top of my head.

tbh xbox 360 sux at the moment :D

is the DLC not only exclusive for 6 months ? meaning itl be out on ps3 next year at about the time no games get and everyones bored of the "xmas games"

anyway i cant afford the extra for a ps3 at the moment. strongly thinking of picking up an xbox arcade and gta4 next week (not got good enough internet for gaming where i am till july :( )
 
Yeah, I reckon you should go ahead. There won't be another price drop for some time, except for the potential MGS4 bundle that still hasn't been confirmed for Europe.
 
I sat umming and arring about it for a week or so, then i spent time hunting for the best deals, in the end i just went out and bought one, never regretted it :D

Don't do that, when you can get the Premium and GTA 4 for £199.99 - and from a place which currently has a 5% off coupon, taking it to £189.99.

Well dont really want to get rid of the 360 as its not technically all mine...but there are some games on there i dont play so would be good to trade them in... one thing i have noticed on the xbox, considering its been around for a long time now, is the complete lack of beat 'em ups....i cant wait for soul calibur 4 to come out (havent played the series since soul blade!); i know its on both platforms but i think it'll be more suited to the ps3, as any new version of tekken would be.

I dont think the deals on the ps3 are that great at the moment, not like when i got the 360...which is a shame..i havent seen the GTA4 pack anyway....will be paying a trip down to costco tomorrow so hopefully they might have a good deal going!

is dual shock 3 coming out anytime soon here?
