Shaving gel for sensitive skin.

If your having problems I deff. reccomend king of shaves oil and a decent wilkinson sword jobbie... if your having problems with normal shaving foams/gels then swapping to a brush and cream probably won't help much.

The reason you're getting shaving rash is because your shaving technique is off. Wash your face before you shave and use a decent cream/soap and brush. Make sure your blades are sharp (change the cartridge every 5 shaves at least) and splash your face with cold water at the end of your shave. Use a decent moisturiser.

As above but make sure your cutting with the grain (downwards usually) rather than against it as some people can't cut against without problems.

EDIT: Oh I see thats been mentioned above... but no harm repeating it :D

have a bath or shower 1st then shave...open's up the pour's for a nice clean shave.

and use what the other people have said...king of shave's...work's really well.

Don't under estimate the difference actually soaking your beard hair makes. To be sure stand in the shower looking at the shower head for a min or 2 on really hot water. This softens the hair so much it's actually possible to just quicky shave without ANY gel or soap or anything, because the hair is now so soft. Dry hair is as strong as steel of the same thickness.....

A proper barber will nuke a towel and wrap that on your face for the same effect. The purpose of foam/gel is to HOLD the water on to your face for longer. You get a better effect by just ensuring your hair is suitably wet in the first place.

I can get away with shaving twice a day! :D You can almost see the beard growing

However I soak my face with a towel/flannel for about 30-40s - it has to be skin blisteringly hot.

Then apply a decent shaving oil or soap. I don't like gels they are too thick for modern razor blades.

Shave with the grain applying the right pressure.

Run your hands over your face to find any "missed" patches.

Wash your face down with the hot flannel.

Then apply lots of ice cold water to your face and pat dry.

You don't really need moisturiser, but if you want to go ahead. :)

Ditch the fusion!

Seriously, with those 4/5 bladed razors, the blades are too close together. They get clogged up with hair too easy - the hair doesn't rinse out easy, blocks the blades and you end up going over the same spot many times over, causing an increase in irritation.

I also have to shave daily for work. Get a Mach 3 and use the turbo blades. Rinse face well with hot water before shaving. I find alternating when I shave helps too - one day, before I shower, the next day, after I shower, etc. (crazy I know - but it works for me).

One of the best shaving gels I've come across is the Sainsbury's own brand one - comes in a grey tin.

Hope you find something that works for you.

I find any against the grain shaving gives me a rash. I think that's your problem.

I'm also against all these silly multi razor, er, razors. I use the disposable bendy Wilkinson Sword one, happens to have 3 blades but only because they don't do the 2 blade version any more. Gilette foam is fine for me. Moisturise afterwards.

If I can get away with it I shave every other day. In a new job I'll shave every day then drop down to every other day after a few weeks.

Malc30 needs to get with the times drying with an angle grinder. 18V Lithium Ion Makita battery tools is where it's at. Combi drill, impact driver, jigsaw and circular saw is where it's at. The recip saw can stay in the bag, only need that on awkward days ;)
