Shell to re-launch V-Power imminently

I would love to use vpower. But at 15p over the normal stuff at my local shell garage I think not.
£1.28.9L there...

M99 is £115.9 at local Tesco.

I know which I will be filling my MPS with

So whats the point in that then?

Why do people think that making everything "digital" is progress?

Because no manager ever got a promotion by saying: "You know, the system we have now works well - let's leave it alone". Someone did a big presentation on how digital was the future and you can bet they are on the way up because of it.

And yes, it's utterly -ing stupid.

Those digital pumps are a bit of a faff for motorcycles, the slow option takes bloody ages and the fast option causes the fuel to spray out of the tank.

Used the new digital pumps for the first time, in Stoke of all olaces.

The whole point about manual pumps is that it is a dead mans switch with petrol being dangerous and all.

How does this avoid fuel being spilled everywhere?

If you have to hold down on the buttons, those will not last.

Is it only me that doesn't see the point of these digital pumps?

A readout on the handle would be fine for how many litres there are, otherwise pointless?

In most countries you can apply a catch that allows the pump to fill the car without you needing to hold the trigger. It then clicks itself off when full.

Very frustrating that we don't have this here.

The display doesn't tell you how many litres you're filling up or anything useful in fact. It's just a pointless exercise really.

Now if you could send questionable emojis to someone else filling up at another pump, that would be grand.

It isn't really just stick the cap in the trigger. Simple

Business is FULL of this kind of thinking :/

I'd also put keyless start/entry and electronic handbrakes on the list of un-needed things that are inferior to what came before them and only created problems.

Don't get me started on electonic handbrales. They are totally and utterly unnecessary and inferior to just pulling it up or releasing it yourself.

I disagree. Both are very useful features.

Wheras I wouldn't want a car without either of these fitted. The handbrake particularly. A manual handbrake with an automatic is a faff.

Keyless entry isn't secure and eats fob batteries. An e-brake has less functionality than a simple manual one (especially if you want to do handbrake turns :P). Also it's a pain when changing the brakes, adds cost/labour and is just something else to go wrong.

Rubbish.

My last car was almost 7 years old when I traded it in and nothing had ever gone wrong with the electronic handbrake. By contrast my E39 had constant issues with its manual handbrake.

It's almost no extra work, it's just a simple electric motor.

I would imagine the main benefit (to the fuel retailer) of the digital pumps is that they can use the screens to play adverts while you fill for extra revenue generation.

Basically, where ever you have a paper advert today will eventually become a digital display. This has eneormous advantages for the people selling the advertising space, allowing them to sell the same spot to multiple advertisers at different times of the day.

I don't like electronic handbrakes and would have a manual one every time. Keyless entry though? Yes please. Means I don't even need to take the keys out of my pocket.
