Shoes?

My mate is always raving about R Soles so I gave them a try when my last ones wore out, but I just couldn't see the attraction. I ended up with cramp because the R Sole made everything that much tighter than I was used to.
Maybe my cobbler just did a bad job, but I can't see me ever going down the R Sole route again.

I've got some Brogues from Clarks and the soles were ok but did wear out pretty quickly. I got some 'R' soles from my local independent cobbler and they've been great since, well worth it.

Was going to start a new thread but this looks like the best place to mention it. I had a big trip to London planned (lots of walking etc) so got one of my shoes repaired with the aforementioned soles from Timpsons. I'm not impressed with their durability however, contrary to what people in this thread have said. After just one night out in Soho my R sole was in tatters.

seriously? that's me feeling daft then after paying to have some done :o

Yup, as soon as they're worn down to the stitching I take them to Gucci and get them redone. I nearly did the same thing and paid for it, but my Dad has been returning his collection to Gucci for years and told me about it. :)

I guess they're not too expensive then in real terms as I imagine they'll last xx years and with free re-soling too you'll save a fortune over their lifetime.
