should be faster (SSD)

I have to do it from time to time on my corsair force gt,but I clone it to a spare hdd, secure erase the ssd and clone it back

can't think of whatelse you can try

might need to try cloning it.

when you do yours, does it get back the performance fully?

yeah but over time, say 6 months it degrades slightly again, and I do mean slightly

it can be down to poor trim or maintainance software that's built into the drive

no such issue with my 840 pro

it says my current OS (win 7 64bit ultimate) does not offer native trim support for ssd drives, but can use Magician to Optimize as needed.

It looks like it says that, but I'm sure it doesn't actually tell you that there is no TRIM.

TRIM will be enabled (I think AHCI needs to be enabled - that is indicated on the Magician home screen).

You could erase your SSD if you backup the drive first. As wazza said, it doesn't seem that it would cause such a slowdown in write performance, but it might be worth trying as nothing else seems to be the cause of the problem. You can use Easeus Todo Backup or Macrium Reflect to do the backup. I regularly use Easeus to make backup drive images. If you have a spare HDD it's fairly easy and doesn't take too long. Not entirely "risk free", but I`ve had very few problems with it.

just a thought.
in my original post the shot shows i am using iastor, but since installing the new board its iastorA is this a factor? if so how do i get it back to being iastor?

Mine also reports "iaStorA - OK".

To check if TRIM is enabled....

Start > "cmd" in the Search programs and files box > fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify at the command prompt, then enter.

0 = TRIM enabled. 1 = TRIM not enabled.

In which case, I think I would try the secure erase option (after creating an image of your SSD).

You need to create a bootable CD/DVD if you are using Easeus Todo or Macrium Reflect. The process is quicker and easier if you create the SSD image onto a hard drive, rather than DVDs.

You will also need to create a bootable USB memory stick or disc for the secure erase. Samsung Magician can do this for you.

To be honest, it's probably going to be an hour or so of messing about, probably longer if you aren't used to doing this sort of thing. If it were my system, I'd give it a try, but I'm used to imaging drives etc.

Unless someone can come up with a suggestion we haven't thought of, the only other thing that might be worth a try is testing your SSD in another system. You'll obviously need to find a PC with a spare Sata 3 port.

Hi Dervious---Once again I installed the New Updated Magician...This is same as last two Magicians...I press "Max Performance" and I BSOD every Time I use this magician or any magician.
PC is Darn Great apart from that. Z77x-D3H, Samsung 830 series 128GB, 16GB Ram.

Any Ideas as to why it BSODs.

I`ve just updated to V 4.2 (as mentioned in another thread).

This BSOD is something I`ve never seen with Magician. I have a very similar MB to you. Driver issue ? Probably not, because I`ve tried various versions of RST. Maybe it clashes with some other hardware/driver in your system.

If you choose "Advanced" in OS Optimisation, I think you can manually enable or disable each setting. Maybe you could go through the setting to see which one is doing the damage.

The only problem I have had with Magician is that on the previous version (or maybe two versions), the "bytes wrtten" data on the main page was not displayed. That now seems to be fixed.

as a comparision from the overclockers mega test

You're not going to see those write speeds as that's the 256GB model, you've got the 128GB model.
