should i get the hd player?

hi

im really interested in getting the xbox hd drive addon for £99 from something station

is it worth it, i have a hd tv and xbox premium but will also eventually be upgrading to the elite, £99 seems a bargain

The difference between HD-DVD and standard DVD is very noticable, although the impact of HD does wear off after a while, to the point where you notice it more when you go back to SD.

It's definately worth £99.

Are there many HD DVD'd being released at the moment? Whenever I hear an advert on the TV for *** latest DVD's it always seems to say "available now on DVD and Blueray disc" but never mentions HD-DVD.

Is that just selective marketing or are they a bit thin on the ground?

selective marketing, theres plenty of HD-DVD's out.

very very similar, doubt you would notice the difference.

I'd say it's about even. Stuff like Heroes, Shrek3, Transformers, Lord of the Rings and The Matrix are massive beneficiaries for HD-DVD.

is the UK getting the HD-DVD addon with 5 Free HD-DVDs as they have in the US? If we are it might be worth hanging on for.

I think you can only get 480p over component with movies, something about copy protection.
