Should I give my ex wife anything from my PPI refund?

Does this change at all based on the fact it seems to have been paid back to a joint account? I suppose what i'm really asking is, is it possible for a claim to be paid as a joint claim when it's a joint loan with the claim being paid to a joint account?
Nope doesn't make a difference.
Only the name matters that the loan was taken out under, you can take out a loan in 1 name from a joint bank account.

If your ex-wife is rolling in it minted and you keeping the PPI payout doesn't affect your joint children in any way, I'd be tempted to keep it. Whether I'd ultimately do so or not if I were in your position is another matter.

Posting this thread was probably not the greatest idea you've ever had, however :P

Interesting - I wonder how many couples/ex-couples with joint accounts and joint loans have missed out on 50% of their PPI claims because they only wrote one name on the PPI claim forms :p

I've come across quite a few, but never know if they are still together or not.

if you work for sant .. i don't like you anymore ..lol .. they refused to give me anything on 3 mortgages when i knew i'd payed ppi ..
Nope not santander :)
What was the reason they gave for declining? usually we only decline if we have solid proof that the customer KNEW they where signing up for PPI in the first place, though correspondence/telephone calls.

So looking at the letter it’s addressed to us both and does say ‘your share where your account was held jointly’ but it shows the full amount, then minus tax. @MatsyLR theres certainly no sign of my half or only a half payment. I guess it’s ‘ours’. Will speak to her nex pt week about it and also ask for this loan to be checked.

This changes things. I would not speak to the ex until this has been clarified. If it is indeed 50% then she isn't due anything. It seems people keep replying having not seen this post. However, if it's the full 100% then she is due half.

This - definately give half if the refund is 100% of the PPI due.
