£50 a month probably isn't scratching the interest on the loan you're still paying off, get a settlement figure and get as much of it cleared off as possible. PPI was an insurance policy on financial offerings in case you couldn't pay it back, use this opportunity to get it cleared for both of you.
Keep it, then advise her to file a PPI claim on her half, then convince her that she should give you 50% of that as well, then poo through her letter box. /gd
