I'm only guessing, but I think FFXIII would take up more than 4 discs, and its something SE just don't seem fond of doing.

Well it would be 6 DVD9's at the absolute most and I doubt it'd need that many.

I'm just saying that you said it NEEDS Blu Ray, it doesn't NEED it at all. do you see my point? I'm not trying to pick an argument, just pointing out that what you said is wrong ;) :p

Blu-ray is quicker than your dvd9 in the inner regions of your disc. So that makes even LESS space for your quicker precious dvd format. To try an argue that dvd has an advantage in any way is just stupid.

Even if they had to double up data two fold thats still 25gb of space baby.

Who is this post aimed at? Precious DVD9 format? Wtf are you on about.

Baby.

Yeah agree doesn't necessarily NEED it, it just doesn't appear something that SE have done in the last 4 or so FF's - and with the technology there, I can't see them doing it again.

I guess I'm just hoping that when FFXIII arrives (2009, got no chance of being 2008) that the disc is crammed full! :D

you can use that kind of argument with anything though? it doesn't NEED to be on DVD9 either it could be on 10-15 Standed DVD's. it is NEEDED if they want the game on 1 DISK.

Of course you need to move on, the move from CD to DVD was needed for higher quality visuals and audio files, and again this leap will be made to Blu-Ray (or an alternative media) for the next-generation of consoles, the point is that at this point in time, Blu-Ray isn't really needed for games.

It's a fantastic format and in the next-generation, where drives are faster, media cheaper and games pushing HD audio and better visuals then it's perfect.
