Many subreddits have decided to no longer allow linking to X / Twitter. I personally think Overclockers should also no longer allow linking to X. What say you?
Is that better or worse than unelected government agencies harassing platforms as Zukaberg recently confirmed?Would you not agree that a social media platform run by a member of the US government who will have an office and be working from the whitehouse is somewhat problematic? In fact far more problematic than an independent news outlet or website?
This isn’t even touching on the fact that it is for an administration under Trump who is, objectively, a convicted fraudster and well documented habitual liar.
With (frankly) idiotic posts like the above I’m amazed that the mods actually bother to volunteer their spare time to keep the forum not only going but civil.Basically, they're lazy and want to make things on the forum as effortless as possible when it comes to actually moderating (which does raise the question of why even bother wanting to be a mod if you don't really want to mod and just want the power) but then, what's the point of discussion if you're not going to allow natural discussion to occur and keep having to push people on the course the mods want the discussion to go in, it's not really discussion, it's just very limited back and forth and you end up with people thinking it's to do with political bias when they shut down the conversation because it isn't how they want it to go etc
The government was previously run by an unconvicted fraudster who has also just pre-emptivley pardoned his family and co conspirators - which most reasonably people would conclude admits guilt.

They show up for me and I’m not “logged in”Musk is a pillock and his shine will fade soon enough. More importantly and from a usability of the OCUK forums view, I voted yes because unless I'm missing something (possible) you have to have a login to Twitter to see any of the stuff which is posted on these forums, which I don't have. So, I'm often faced with pages of empty space when users Neil79 and JonRGV250 get their Twitter rage going*
* No, I do not feel I'm missing anything in these two examples.
Politics is reserved for SC isn't it...
I appreciate they control the spammers and bots and people who are just flat out offensive, but nope, I'm not going to appreciate controlling discussion because of a fear they'll maybe have to clean up aisle 3 for a job they willfully chose to do for free, I mean I get it, they're not getting paid and it's a hassle at times but I strongly disagree with controlling discussion to make the job easier to police, it actually probably creates more work for them because they're having to monitor threads for deviations of discussion instead of just relying on users snitching on each otherWhatever happened to being appreciative?

Edit. In fact I don’t use any social media like twitter and BS. They all still show up though.

Yes, this thread being a perfect example of the latter. It can be a wonderful thing quite often but it can also do terrible things to people's mental wellbeing.
