Should more games be released like GT5p?

Pretty sure a lot of full priced games last less than 8 hours, Prologue is much longer than that to complete the classes, let alone get Gold in all.

This is not an adventure game or first person shooter(which are replayable anyway). Which racing games or other sims, city building or flying offer less content then this prologue? I would pay more if we got the "Beyond the Apex" documentary.(I'm assuming you don't according to wiki)

Doesn't matter what type of game it is.

Yes it does. The financial cost of creating a 20-30 hour FPS are astronomical, racing games have the ability to rely on the usage of the same cars on the same tracks, but by structuring events differently, as a result you could make infinite game play by simply adding in a new 3 race-track tournament. It's impossible to do the same with a FPS/adventure game.

£25 is too much for part of a game you're still expected to stump out full price for on it's release.
If you got a discount off the main product for buying this it wouldn't be so bad.

Those condoning this what next? Every game should be sold half finished for half the money and then again at full price when they do finish it? No thanks.

They should have followed the COD4 / Halo 3 path and offer free mp betas. (yes I know most people got in with Crackdown but there were other ways on).

I don't give a rats that it's still a great experience and fuller than 'most' games, it's still half a game and half of COD4 or Bioshock would also been great; it doesn't justify charging £25 for it.

Seems a new Sony habit is forming though it's not as bad as selling everyone a gimped DualShockl III Prologue (Six Axis) for full price and getting everyone to stump out the same amount for it's full and complete release.

half of bioshock or cod4 wouldnt even be worth playing. and plenty of peopel would disagree with you on what gt5p is worth.

careful, because you dont want to turn this in to a sony-hating affair, because comparisons with another certain questionable company will follow, i promise you.

Just been thinking about the OP. I think with the amount of games that are rushed to market uncomplete then releasing mini versions of the same game would be a good idea.

Motorstorm is one game that springs to mind, don't get me wrong I thought it was a good game but no one would deny it was somewhat lacking in content. If they released it as a kind of prologue though for £25 while they carried on working on extra tracks, vehicles, game modes and online play options. I'm sure there are other games as well which could benefit with having extra time to complete the full game.

I don't hate Sony and I'll be buying a PS3 when a) DSIIIs come as standard, b) I don't have to put my own HD in if I want more than a handful of games installed, c) there's more than 1 game I want to play, d) backwards compatability is reintroduced.

I've always been very critical of people being charged for unfinished product.

If they then charged say just another £15/£20 to 'patch' it up the full version this would be a pretty good model.

*waves MS Flag*

I deleted the rant, And just left that there. It's all about being calm.

Woooo Saaaaaaar

Wooooo Saaaaaar.

I honestly believe we need an Xbox 360 vs PS3 thread, and it needs to be moderated.

Why? because if there was a thread for the constant on going debate. Maybe other threads wouldn't get this blatent my console is better stuff.

Just a thought

I am not keen on this new business model and will certainly be less keen if it goes from a one off to a trend. It is unfortunate that GT5p has sold so well as we have once again told Sony it is OK to fleece us.

they arent fleecing us. if its worth the money people will pay it. if people are willing to pay its whats th problem? we've already been told prologue is getting another big update

It all comes down to personal opinion. Pretty much the same reason why I don't support the episodic content approach that Valve are doing with Half Life. It comes down to them wanting to give us the same content for more money, I don't agree with that business model so I won't support. You do, so you support it. Fine, but neither of us are wrong, we just have differing opinions.
