Shout out to Richer Sounds

When I got my TV (again great customer service / decent price vs Amazon etc), was speaking with the assistant. The owner sold half the business and put the other half in an employee trust and then separately gave them £1k for each years service from his own pocket. They were obviously all super happy!

Yes got a usb dac/amp from there ,kept losing connection, they did a doorstep swap over with a replacement, different one ( Hil dac 2) it was very easy to get through to a real person who was genuinely aiming for my best outcome

They always have excellent customer service and I'm always happy to use them. I too used the London Bridge store in the past.

I didn't realize this though:

In November 2013, Julian Richer announced to the press that, upon his death, he would bequeath 100% of the firm to a trust co-owned by employees of the company.[3][4] In May 2019 Richer, then aged 60, announced that he had transferred ownership to employees by passing 60% of his shares to a trust,[5] as well as separately paying each of his over 500 employees, excluding directors,[6] from his own pocket a thank you bonus of £1,000[7] for every year of work, a total of about £4 million, as the employees had worked for an average of 8 years

Love the place!
Have bought my last two TVs and AV receivers from them.
Will always recommend them to others
Because they deliver what you ordered? Or something more.
They used to be the gold standard for aftercare, my recent experience puts them equal to pretty much everywhere else now.

It used to be they would take it back without question and they would do the warrant claim. Now they just point you to the Manufacturer by default.

I'll gladly a pay a bit extra for this tbh, beats dealing with the box-ticking windowlickers that the likes of Currys employ.

That statement suggests that Currys has staff working for them. When I popped in one a couple of weeks back to look at some ovens I literally saw 1 member of staff in sight, and they had no interest in talking to anyone.

Surprised from a security point of view that a small group could easily turn up and shoplift with zero resistance.

That's unusual, whenever we go into Currys (to check something out, then buy it elsewhere) there's hordes of them standing around.

I've found their CS superb as well.. even an AV Receiver out of warranty, they organised a £50 fixed fee repair of it, I dropped it in the shop, their local repair guy sorted it in two days and picked it up.. so even out of warranty and they massively helped.

My nice story goes all the way back to the 80s and I think there was only one shop in the country in London.
I rang for an item and then asked if they could post it but said no.
I kept increasing my P&P offer and got to £25 but the guy said no amount will get them to send it.
The following morning I got on a train and then on the Tube to Richer Sounds and bought the item.
While paying for it I said to the Manager that I thought it was disgusting that I'd offered £25 but they still wouldn't send it.
He then asked who had spoke to me the day before, couldn't apologise enough and I walked out of there with around £60 worth of stuff including leads and reel to reel tapes etc plus extended warranty.
