Shout out to Richer Sounds

My experience has been fantastic with them. On the sixth year of owning my TV it developed a screen fault which they said they couldn't fix but would let me have something worth the original purchase value from them. So I ended up spending an extra £30 to grab a decent Samsung. Which they then slapped another six year warranty on for free! Surely they can't offer the same again if this one breaks?!

My nice story goes all the way back to the 80s and I think there was only one shop in the country in London.
I rang for an item and then asked if they could post it but said no.
I kept increasing my P&P offer and got to £25 but the guy said no amount will get them to send it.
The following morning I got on a train and then on the Tube to Richer Sounds and bought the item.
While paying for it I said to the Manager that I thought it was disgusting that I'd offered £25 but they still wouldn't send it.
He then asked who had spoke to me the day before, couldn't apologise enough and I walked out of there with around £60 worth of stuff including leads and reel to reel tapes etc plus extended warranty.
Told that story ere before :p

But, but, they get [a whopping] 40 hours of training. It even says so on their TV adverts. :p

Repeat after me 1000 times. You need this really expensive monsta cable or your £200 TV wont look as good as it could.
Repeat after me 1000 times. You need an extended warranty as it will probably, no no not probably, but it just may break just after your warranty expires.

Takes days to get it right ;)

Costco seem to be the best now
Not sure Costco is that comparable to RS, unless you're after TV's and even then Costco's selection isn't massive nor always the cheapest place.

Would love to shop there, but don't qualify for a card.
I honestly don't think you're missing much now; fuel is about the only reason i've still got a card.

Similar to most buy most AV kit from them, sometimes I use Peter Tyson, but I do love Richer Sounds. I had a problem with a new Harmon Kardon Citation amp that was screeching when turned on. Like a bad coil whine. They took it back no problem and helped me spec out a different item (Bluesound POWERNODE 2). Their customer service is good - that is why I also bought my first OLED TV (LG C3) from them. With a longer 6 year warranty it was a no brainer I thought in case anything were to go wrong. They seem to retain their staff as well. When I was shopping for the amplifier it was to replace an 8 year old monster that was taking up too much space. The guy that sold me that amplifier 8 years ago, was the same person that helped me out this time. Hard to find that nowadays.

I bought my last tv from there. Always good customer service.

They go out of their way to accommodate people with disabilities when it comes to delivery and setting things up.

OC should consider something like that with a premium service. Because I had big issues with my water cooled pc leaking, which I suspect was because of a bad delivery.

To be honest they would be the last place I would look if I needed something. I think of them a bit like John Lewis - you know you will get a good service, but usually the price is higher than the rest, so would only have a look there if there was a price match going on.

Don't both JL and Richer Sounds price match? I know they don't match online / promotions though (JL that is).

Love em. Bought an Epson 6700 through them almost 6 years ago. Been back twice in that time (dust blobs first and snow/interference second time) second time they replaced something inside and projector like new. Always quick and easy to deal with.

Because they deliver what you ordered? Or something more.
They used to be the gold standard for aftercare, my recent experience puts them equal to pretty much everywhere else now.

It used to be they would take it back without question and they would do the warrant claim. Now they just point you to the Manufacturer by default.
They offered great advice, have never been pushy with the sales, and don't try and sell £100 HDMI cables.
It feels like I'm talking to another enthusiast rather than a sales person.

I've never had an issue with anything, so can't comment on the after care stuff.
