Before you make your first static line solo you first do a First Jump Course. This usually lasts about a day starting around 9am. By about 5 or 6pm you could be doing your very first jump!! On the course you learn everything about the parachute system, from the bits and bobs you need to pull, and dont pull to procedures in the plane, how to get a good exit and stable body position, how to fly the parachute, what to do in an emergency, even how to take a dump if you ask nicely

. The price of these course varies from dropzone to dropzone from £120 to £210, but you'll get all the same tuition, some might include the first jump others dont.

At Strathallan (my dropzone) its £155. After that your training is FREE!!!!!!!! and all the training throughout the progression course onto becoming a licenced skydiver is totally free, you only pay for the jumps at £35 each.

Once you are qualified the jump price drops dramatically to as low as £10 per jump depending on what altitude you go to.
