At the risk of taking this massively off topic you are both wrong. It's an initialism as it's pronounced a letter at a time.

An abbreviation is a shortened version of a word or phrase used to represent the whole e.g. St. for Street.
An Acronym is an abbreviation that's pronounced as a word e.g. NATO, Radar.
An Initialism is an abbreviation that's pronounced a letter at a time e.g DVD, IBM or in this case USB.

nice desk :) how u like Dell U2515H? Im about to buy one to replace broken 29 inch :(
Don't own one but have used one. First impressions, that particular example had virtually no backlight bleed (tiny, tiny bit in the top left, but none at all otherwise), but glow was average (I'd say worse than my iMac 27", which appears to be particularly good in that respect - may be the glass and the fair amount of bleed helps there). The coating is excellent, and the factory calibration is good enough that most will not need to calibrate again.

The glow wouldn't put me off at all to be honest as it isn't any worse than any other monitor, it's stunning by all accounts. The price just sweetens the deal. Personally trying to decide whether to purchase two myself.

I love it, I'm not super clued up on monitors having not bought one for absolutely ages, but as far as my eyes are concerned everything looks great. Mini-DP to DP cable included which is nice compared to some others, especially as a lot of them are more expensive, and it looks amazing.

I wish it had speakers but that's literally it. The stand's good as well, although I am wall mounting it this week it's a nice change from a lot of monitor stands.

good to hear, will wait for new Wednesdays deals and if nothing better will come down in price will Buy one :) 29 superwide is nice but damn that 1080 pixel hight is depressing, and 34 inch is just overkill :)

my wee macbook with pc i cant use since my monitor died :(

Mrs has got really into her writing and this fit the bill perfectly.

From a long time PC user I am genuinely impressed by it. Exceptional build quality (compared to other laptops in the price range) and decent specs overall for <£700 (It is a "base" 13.3" 2015 model). Keyboard is the best part of the overall package. I knew they were good but.... wow... :eek:.

Still trying to get used to the software side of things (I like to micro manage and it appears to be designed without that in mind) but overall I could happily live with it day to day. (Yes I have Steam installed... :p)

I find it amusing that this machine is actually thinner than the lid on my Clevo P170SM... :D

I am not going to go out any replace all my PC's with Apple machines but it makes a refreshing change to try something new and enjoy it.

@PardonTheWait what desk is that?

My dad had it made up, it's from a kitchen supplier he uses (kitchen fitter). The AV unit over the other side of the room (I say other side, it's about 9 feet wide lol) is made of the same stuff.

The finish is called Grey Avola or maybe I think Brown Grey Avola.

The leg is an ikea one.
