wow thats so cool :eek::D

Well chuffed! Finally managed to get Leopard installed on it the other night, after messing about with the DVD drive on the IDE channels. Weirdly it throws SENSE MEDIA errors if it's on the ATA33 channel. Works fine if you put it on the secondary ATA66 (wow the speed) channel. However, meant having the case half open - no airflow over the heatsink so the fan was going like the clappers. It's not quiet!

The other problem, as you'd expect is finding PowerPC versions of the software to run. Got most of it, but have had to default to Safari from Firefox as they've dropped PPC support in version 4. Adium, uTorrent etc.. all still have PPC development branches which is handy.

Zips along quite nicely, really goes to show how well spec'd they were when they were released in the early 00's. :)

Will be getting a 9800pro, SATA card and a could have SATA drives in there in the future if I can find them cheap. Or failing that some decent size IDE drives and just RAID them.

I had a hunt round the internet myself. Seems they were membrane keyboards. It was earlier keyboards came with the Alps switches. Shame. could have had yourself a nice little slice of pie there. If it had been mechanical I'd have offered to buy it :p

How does it handle web browsing?

I have a powerbook G4 (1.67 ghz) that I've all but given up with, it's only really useful as a browsing machine now but It can't handle streaming video (youtube, iplayer etc) so it's a bit pointless.

It's OK, depends on what media streamer. YouTube is OK, but I've had it fall over on iPlayer/BBC News etc..

I think I'm also struggling with a failing 120GB drive as it tends to pinwheel randomly. The other day I was working in terminal and I lost the ability to list the directory because it wasn't there. Reboot time and drive was back. Dumped machine to dmg just in case...
