*** Show Off Your Apple Hardware ***

I try not to think about the cost of my set up

27" 2011 iMac 3.4Ghz, 1Tb HD, 16Gb RAM, 12Tb External Storage
17" 2011 MBP 2.2Ghz i7, 8Gb RAM, 256Gb SSD, 1TB HDD
11.6" 2010 MBA 1.6Ghz, 128Gb, 4GB RAM
2009 MacMini, 256Gb SSD, 24" Apple Cinema Display, about 4Tb external storage
iPad 2 32Gb
iPhone 4 32Gb (white)

My wallet is in pain thinking about it.

£6k+?!? ! damn! the worst thing to buy is probably a new iphone (£600) when you think of it, its a phone to text and make calls so £600 is sillly money for a phone to me :/ then the ipad cant really do much the iphone cannot so another £600, the MBA maybe for portability but you also have an ipad :/ and the MBP with nearly the same spec as the iMac :/ maybe you want a laptop for on the go but then having the MBA makes no sense to me again.

I wish I had that set up but I can never spend that much, i would probably cry, an iMac is enough for me :)

/not a rant/hating, just shocked and a bit jealous, but not of paying that much :D

So......whats your reason for all this equipment :) im guessing you work with video rendering?

The iMac is a replacement for an old DL360 HP server that I used for virualisation of server stuff for testing/simulation, but I also used it to consolidate my iTunes server, file storage and everything else on to. It spends most days with server simulations running so it's quite stressed.

The i7 MBP 17" is my site unit, so needs to be able to run all the demo stuff I use, hence the power needed. I often travel to the US for example, so I need to be able to do similar stuff that I do in the UK.

The air is my travel buddy, so used for meetings and general office type use. I spend a fair bit of time running around meetings & stuff in London by tube, so it gets used for that.

iPad is a toy really, I rarely use it - more for my daughter than me I guess.

I didn't set out to buy all this stuff in one go - I don't think I'd have ended up where I was if I had thought like that.....no VAT, tax deductible all helps to drag the price down of course.

Sure, could probably do it cheaper with other platforms - but hey, I like the technology and configuration :)

Just want a Trackpad and a Synology DS411J to put all my CDs on as ALAC. Wish I had a bigger cupboard desk lol, also need new wallpaper and I think I'm going to end up drilling the back of the desk out (only got one hole behind the left speaker) as seeing all the cables at the back makes me annoyed.

DAC is a Yulong D100, knob is a TC Electronic Level Pilot, speakers are Focal CMS 50s. Gash phone pic soz.

Fabulous set up mate. :)
Are you running both those Cinema displays from the Mini or is one of them an iMac?

Not his setup, but agreed it does look very nice!

Like he said not my setup. :p

But as far as I know both displays are running from the Mac Mini as they do have both a displayport and mini displayport slot in the back. :)

Could be wrong though! :o

My 2009 has a Mini-DVI and a Mini Displayport. The cinema display is Mini Displayport only so I'm not quite sure how that's been done, short of using a box of tricks similar to the Matrox Dualhead.
