Really doesn't bother me. My 2006 MBP had a silver surround (and a matte screen). The only bit that looks cheap it the MacBook Pro logo. The 2006 had a metallic embossed badge, the 2011 is just black writing. The overall look is less immediately "MacBook Pro" than the black edged glass but I spend my time looking at the screen not the surround.

All the air's are anti-glare to start with. Kinda ironic that the Pro machines have a worse display as standard.
