tried my hand at making Chicken Katsu Curry last night. I was impressed with my effort however I should've had something else. A bit of salad perhaps?

Excuse the iPotato photography

Pan seared pork chop with a basil and garlic dressing, on a bed of julienne red peppers and red onion.

Also need to invest in some steak knives, a regular knife doesn't cut it with meat!

Just saw this. Out of curiosity, did you do this from Gordon Ramsay's Ultimate Cookery Course book? The Pork chop on a bed of julienne red peppers / red onion is one of my favourites from that book!

Made a cake for a friend's son's birthday...first time making a children's novelty cake so quite pleased with the result. Definitely learned a lot for next time though!

Slow cooked meatballs? Not something I've heard of before. What were the advantages of the method? (Not trying to be antagonistic - genuinely interested)

Its mainly for the sauce. I need to make the meatballs bigger so they arent as soft. I find tomato based sauces cooked quickly have no depth. Open to tips

I've seen this posted recently but it's something I've done before myself anyhow. Essentially cooking the tomato sauce much longer by itself - in the oven too so you get browning on the top. Mix in the browned bits every 20 minutes or so. You'll get a really rich flavour from the sauce with that and then you can quickly brown the outside of the meatballs and drop them in the sauce to be finished off for the last however long it takes to get them to a state you're happy with.
