See the way you've got the HDD bay did you have to screw it down like that?

Man I feel left out, my PC has remained unchanged for many months (a year?!) - Or maybe that's good and means it was awesome to begin with and still is? :p

Mostly the latter I reckon ;)

Just installed my new graphics card today (an XFX 7950 Black Edition) and thought i'd grab a shot of the case's guts.

It's an Akasa ZEN ATX midi-tower, so not much room (if any) for cable managedment, in fact i'll be lucky if i can put the side panel back on.

Horrifying isn't it :p I think i need a bigger case. :p

Sorry about the quality, i held the camera as still as i could, and tried to touch it up in PS

Youre aware that you might see better temps if you move that roof fan to the other opening?

And turn it over so its exhausting and not intaking?
i got really good temps that way, the roof is filtered in this case so its meant as an intake, also blowing cool air into the case directly over the ram and into the cooler is to my mind a good thing.

anyway its different now and apart from modding a side window its finished.

Dont mean to burst your bubble, and I dont mean any harshness, but no roof fan mounts are meant as intake.
If its filtered, its so that dust doesnt fall into the case while your system is off.
Youre disobeying the laws of thermodynamics that way because...

All together now...

Heat rises.
As for your RAM, if youve got a front/bottom intake then the RAMs heat will be directed upwards anyway.
If youre pulling air IN from top, front and/or bottom, and expecting the one rear fan to take care of exhausing all that air, your temps will suffer.
Its all about flow.
Intakes front and bottom, exhaust back and top.

Again, I mean no disrespect.

Like the new cooler a lot better though, suits the all black theme way better and looks BEAST. Bet is cools nicely too :D

Don't mean to burst your bubble, and I don't mean any harshness, but "heat rises" is not true when fans are added to the equation. The laws of thermodynamics are one thing. Forced airflow is another.

But the top fan may cause turbulence and restrict the intake to cooler fan. That is if cooler intake fan cannot suck the downward airflow in as easily... This can and does happen, but not saying it is happening in this case.

Again, I mean no disrespect.

either way its working fine, it worked before with the old setup but now due to the larger cooler it idles around 26c and is less than 10db, the only time i can hear my pc is if i sit very still and turn off all other noise. even then i can only hear the hdd making a faint clicking noise.

stress temps i have yet to test
