*** Show us your bikes! ***

Ok, ok :p :D

Here she is, my new 2009 Aprilia Tuono Factory 'Black Dream'

The gold frame isn't actually very bright in person, the bike is gorgeous :D

11,500 miles, just had it's 12k mile service (inc valve checks), MOT until August 2017, 1 month old front tyre and rear can't be much older. Full service history, side stand mod already done, mint condition (just one stone chip on the front cowling). Running 15/42 sprockets too.

Obviously as a factory, it's got lashings of carbon, ohlins front and rear and those gold forged wheels. And the gold frame, if you hadn't noticed that already :p:D

There's more pics if you click on one of the pictures.

Nice, I like the paint job. Not too keen on the frame though. I would prefer a black frame, although you got a nice proportion of all the colours. The white stripe is a nice toouch.

I would be scared to ride that thing, like I do my SV. :p There was that guy who races the SV's on last meet, he said his times are better on the track ready SV than his special edition GSXR or other his bikes. :p

Edit

When we'll see some videos from your test rides? :D

Yeah I love the paint scheme, there's always carbon covers for the frame if I fancy a change.

You have to respect these big bikes, my CB400, exiting a corner i can whack open the throttle and because there's so little torque, it's fine. On this however...:o:D

I'll try and get some footage/sound of the thing at some point :)

Haha, yeah forgot those! :D It's loud! Quite a bit louder than my unbaffled CB400 at idle, I'll happily start that up on the drive but the Tuono is a little antisocial :D

It can fit baffles but didn't come with any, I may need some for the Alps trip next year though!!

Looking very good Paul!

Bet you was like a kid at Christmas picking it up!!!

Any plans for mod wise?

I'm on holiday at the moment, so I get my new triumph to come back too the day I come back haha!

Just need to advertise the sv. Any free/cheap places to advertise bikes? Auto trader gone expensive, going to put it up on fb and Gumtree.

I was like a kid at Christmas waiting for it to be delivered!! :D

Quite a few mods/bits on the to do list:

Crash bungs (2x lots, front engine/frame mounted and rear mounted on the rear of the frame) - woodcraft front and R&G rear
Beowulf rad guards

Those are the priority things, the rest below might be done over winter:
Aprilia Performance rearsets, along with:
RSV4/KTM rear master cylinder (although the rear brake actually seems to work on this one, it's known fault for the rear brake to be useless), and
Synchrotech SP quickshifter
Ohlins steering damper
Oberon Clutch slave cylinder
Creee LED low beams
LED front indicators and rear bulbs
Healtech gear indicator, as I'm forever shifting into 7th on my CB400, the opposite will happen on this, I'll forever be going into 1st when I don't need to!

And I'll need a new tank bag (my third one!), probably an SW motech with the tank ring as it has a plastic tank.

Plus I'll need to wire up a relay for a couple of USB sockets and my TomTom sat nav, and get a ram mount ball for one of the handlebar clamp bolts.

And lastly, some baffles for Switzerland next year! :D

Nearly forgot, need to get some proper cleaning bits too - carnuba wax, a wash mitt and drying towel. With it being mostly black, it doesn't half show up hand prints!!

SV650 and SV650/1000 UK are probably one of the biggest SV groups on FB. ;)

Edit
@Kreeeee, did you get your knee down on the SV by any chance? :p

Oberon Clutch slave cylinder ... unless yer doing it for the bling... dont bother as make 0 difference to the feel of the clutch even if they say it makes it lighter . About the only positive is my clutch fluid dosent go black as quick .

Really... hmmm - TBH the clutch is pretty light as it is, lighter than my CB400's cable clutch I think.

I found a random wire under the pillion seat, not connected to anything and doesn't look like the original wiring (done nicely though, all cabled tied up etc), just a white plug not actually doing anything, it appears to go down under the main seat - hopefully that's already hooked up to a switched live, it'll make wirng in a relay for satnav/USB power a lot easier.

Good man, awesome bike. Like an Alfa, everyone should own an Aprilia at some point in their motorbiking life.

Looking forward to seeing what you'll get in two years time :p

Only joking - great purchase - enjoy. Maybe see you in the Alps next year :)

Cheers for that ic3, will check it out.

I'm actually going to miss my sv, it's a cracking bike!

I find it very nimble in the corners, quick acceleration off the mark, nice v twin sound out of the exhaust, and has a nice induction growl to it above 5k.

The only negatives I can find with the bike is half the bolts are made of cheddar, not the most smoothest of bikes when rolling on, and a bit vibey through the pegs and bars. But they are only niggles, I can live with them.

Honestly anyone looking to get one, would recommend for a first bike, have fun on a bike without going in ridiculous speed terrotory, or if you want something reliable and very cheap to run.
