Ford Fiesta Titanium 1.6 TDCi, I usually get over 60MPG but I've been 'thrashing' it a bit :p

Some cracking figures from the diesel lads. Worth putting up with the diesel engine for economy like that, eh :p

LOL. Personally I don't feel I'm having to put up with the engine at all, its suits the car and autobox very well. Its giving me approx 20% better mpg than my old T4 and its faster, more powerful and a heavier car.

It depends how far you drive I suppose, I think I'll be getting a petrol as my next car to see what all the fuss is about! :p

What you need is a friend with, say, the same car as yours with the same box but maybe that lovely 3 litre 272bhp petrol engine instead, then you can see what you are missing ;)

Very little difference in reality.

I'm sorry but is that diesel figure actually very slightly lower (let's call it the same though since it's so close) as my 3.0 V6 petrol engine one ? :D ...lol

To be fair that will be a round town figure and your V6 figure isn't!

Err no, not really :p ...that figure does include some around town driving though, but also 270 miles of motorway and A road driving ...and since the total figure was about 325 miles ...it's been skewed a tad yes. However, Dandle did not say what sort of driving his figures represent either ...although I suspect it does include rather more around town than mine.

Its all fairly short journeys, my work run is 7 miles each way, theres two or three longer trips in there but no major driving holidays or anything.

48.8
Quite remarkable for a 9-3 Aero, on the route back from Luton to Cambridge

Proper Grandma driving, hardly touched the brakes

Yep, well happy with 50MPG. Actually I'm pretty happy getting over 40MPG at 90MPH on a French Toll Road.
