*** Show us your Dogs ***

Yeah barks gets a groom maybe every 2 months which I'd like to bring down to 1 month just because he's extra shiny and nice when he's done but it's hardly urgent.

Mine gets groomed every 4-6 weeks. I have a professional groomer and she has all the kit. We did washed him in the bath a few rimes but he is a big dog, 37kg, and it is messy. She is comes here and collects Max and he loves it. Our neighbouts across the road now use the same groomer. They have two Lhasa Apsos which are small dogs. Maybe the groomer does them both at the same time in the tub.

Yes Squirrel :) Hazel had her nose bitten for her trouble here because she didn't kill it straight away.

Sure your sausages weren't part fox? My Cockapoo (Hazel) has virtually no Prey-drive and she just enjoys the chase. It's a game to her and more often than not when Hazel catches a rabbit she just lets it go again rather than kill it. Copper will kill rabbits but she's an older dog.
Apparently the standard sausages were originally bred for Badger hunting.

The mini one's we had I think were used to flush rabbits and the like .

Caper our eldest basically tried to get everything that moved!

We kept a puppy from her first litter of puppies and she loved the chase but wouldn't dream of killing anything!

My aunt kept a boy and called him Corpral coz they used to have a Corpral when he was in the army.

He was just like caper and a proper hunter.

My aunt then took another boy from her second litter and called him napoleon but he was so soft and wouldn't say boo to a goose!

Tilly, the one I got at the same time as Maddie, would stalk my hamsters in their ball!

Maddie just wasn't phased at all and when the hamster ball ran into her she wouldn't budge! Lol!

My brother and his family now have a frenchie but they wash her every week!

Lilith is an expert at catching leaves.

Interesting story thanks! It just shows how temperament can differ from one animal to another within a breed and you can never be sure what you'll get :)

By the way, can anyone recommend a website/book/guide for clicker training?
A couple of weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon there were 2 dog owners in the fields trying to train recall using those things. Didn't work out so good. Voice command or your own unique whistle is the best bet IMHO. I have to admit a young excitable pup is easily distracted and it was over 12 months before I could reliably get her to come back when asked. That would be my own fault for not training her well enough but we got there in the end. Still an issue when she's in season lol, because then there's only one thing on her mind...

We got a gate to keep Maddie downstairs (Family has corrected me on her name spelling).

She's got up a few times and pretty much everytime, she's run into the bedroom and peed on the floor!
I don't get it, she's pretty well house trained at this point. She just turned 5 months old.

Any ideas on how to correct this behaviour?

There is a company out there who make slippers that look just like your pet! It is probably really expensive to get them but if money was no issue for me then I would definitely get some!! Lol!!

Apologies for the awful screen shot. I don't know how to make it better.

Taxidermy - Wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Taxidermy

A person who practices taxidermy is called a taxidermist. They may practice professionally, catering to museums and sportspeople (hunters and fishermen), or as ...<SNIP>

I have a friend , Bob, who is a taxidermist, he's nicknamed Bob the Stuffer. His other claim to fame is beating all the F1 teams at the soap box derby race at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and being told his next entry would be politely declined ;) (He builds carbon fibre recumbent tricycles, so his "soap box" was pretty sophisticated and took the F1 lot by surprise, and apparently they voiced their annoyance...)
