Good work lance. Anatomy really needs a closer look at next time and definitely more time spent on the armor, its not reading very well. The silhouette could have been a bit more interesting.

Something from myself , basically a copy of a photo.

I absoloutely hate shading :( terrible at it. I need to also start drawing without looking at something.
Not bad!, you using gestural drawing to get a feel for the form?.

Personally, I'm teaching myself anatomy to be able to draw without a reference - as until I really understand the human form (or the form of objects in general) I'll have gaps in my memory.

Thank you!

Not really gestural no, I can't really get on with that, I seem to want to add too much detail too soon - I'll try and do a basic layout then slowly add detail and move things around if needs be.

The above is the second go at the drawing as I wanted to try some shading, as you can see I wasn't very good at doing so :D

Yup, I do the same all the time - trying to force myself to do the rough stages first at the moment.

My biggest problem is time allocation, between work, girlfriend, gym, gaming, guitar practice & socialising it's sometimes hard to get the time to really sit down & spend the 4+ hours I need to do an illustration.

Heh, I can relate entirely :p

Gym in the morning, work till 5, get home cook dinner and the next days lunch, then I might be able to site down for an hour, bed.

All of the above depends on if there is anything else to do around the house :o

Haha, very similar.

Get up at 05:00 get to the gym at 06:30 till 07:30 then into work for 08:00, back home at 17:00.

I'd give my left arm for a 3 day weekend to get all my hobbies it, but I need it to play guitar & do weight-lifting!.

Kinda why I'm learning gestural work, as I want to learn how to speed-paint well, I think it's the only way I'll be able to produce some artwork around the time-scales I have.

very out of proportion really, and is on the worlds shiniest paper as well, just randomly decided i wanted to draw something whilst half asleep haha

Not drawn anything for years so no idea what brought this on but its a start, really need to get back into drawing :)

Hehe, looks good though! - I keep imagining him wearing dungarees, baseball cap - with a huge belly & large feet - holding a dead chicken in his hand.

Yeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaarrrrrrr!
