Show us your garage!

I'm planning on something along those lines but flush mounted into the floor. Not got enough headroom for a full height lift without re-engineering the roof space and don't want anything cluttering the floor when it's not in use but being able to get the car up to a nice working height would be useful.

Working on a new garage office. Getting there.. fitted the electric door myself, wasn't too bad.

Thinking of tiling the floor with commercial stuff, wood burner ordered for next week :)

I don’t have a garage. :(

(There was one there once but it wouldn’t hold an average size car never mind this so it was flattened years back)

Finally got this up about a month ago after waiting 3 years since we finished the house, decided to go steel for the ease and cost mostly, just need to get a sparky over to sort it out with some lights and sockets and then fill in the gaps where the uprights meet the ground with concrete.

Plan is to paint the floor first off then build in a decent work bench in the back right hand corner by the window, might make a long high shelf along the whole back wall for extra storage. Then if/when funds and time allows get a 2 post lift put in where the chalk marks are, it'll be a bit close to 1 wall but that way it gives me access to park a car in both bays still.

Resurrecting this due to exciting developments, but out of interest (and I think we've spoken in another thread) how do you find the metal garage with condensation? I see you've had it through last winter. Is it insulated at all or is it single skin?

My exciting developments.. we're in the process of buying a house with no garage but a really nice plot for what we (I) want - a 40ft front garden and 100ft+ back garden with a drive that goes from the front to just past the house, which is where we're going to build the garage. I am 99.9% sure I'm going to go for a 4m x 7.5m timber log cabin style garage and I'm picking up bits to outfit it at the moment.

Bought some bisley tambour cabinets recently for £130 for 3, I've painted one up and plan to finish them all off at the weekend:

I've got the old Halfords Advanced tool chest stack - top middle and bottom and an extra middle, but I'm basically out of space in there. It gets a bit out of hand as I often need to buy imperial and metric versions of sockets etc due to having an old car as well as more modern stuff.

I get a discount on their gift cards through work, and I'm planning on using several base cabinets with a worktop on top to make a nice bech/tool storage area, but I've just found out a mate has a trade card and the base cabs are crazy cheap, so I think I will end up with three of their base cabinets built in, and my stack as a roll-around option for most commonly used tools.

The general gist of the built in section is similar to a 'steevo bench' but I don't have the welding skills to do it as nicely as he did. The plan is three cabs in a row beneath a worktop, with the casters replaced with levelling feet.

I was going to go with one base cab with both side extensions, another base cab next to it, but with my mate's discount I think I will end up with three base cabs plus the two extensions. That will mean I'll have an L-shaped bench that extends about 3m in both directions. Hoping to literally never need more storage!

Will update with pics as it progresses, but it will be a slowish process. Provided the house sale goes through, but it looks like it will at this point.

My Man cave garage corner, not much but keeps me out of the way! (Considerably more messy now)
