Show us your kitty cats

Aww :(

They do become members of the family to some people, me included.

I broke down in tears at the vets when I had to have Bandit put down.

He had a good innings like yours though, two months shy of twenty years old.

Still miss the blighter.

Sorry to hear about Spike. But having such a crap start to life and needing to be rescued at 4 weeks of age to 18 happy years with you is a complete success story in my eyes.

I have just noticed my cat has got a colobomas of the Iris. I will try to get a photo later. It looks like a dark irregular shape at the bottom of the pupil. It doesn't seem to effect her in any way. Has anyone else heard of this.

RIP Spike.

Sorry to hear Sonea.. looking on the bright side you say you rescued him at a young age and then he enjoyed a long fulfilled life loved by you and your family, I dont think it can get any better than that, you've done more than the right thing :) You have got some great memories and photos of him that you will treasure for the rest of your life.

RIP Spike

Well it's been a few weeks since we gave Felix away to my fiancee's dad. Happy to report that both cats are much happier now.

Puddle loves the freedom of our flat and runs the place now. Felix is quite happy in his new home with a garden, trees, ponds and birds to try and catch.

Here is puddle giving us a random rear paw high five

I'd just like to add a HUGE thanks to all the fellow cat lovers out there who have taken the time to comment for our little boy Spike:

If I Should Grow Frail

If it should be that I grow frail and weak, and pain does keep me from my sleep, then will you do what must be done for this - the last battle - that can't be won?

You will be sad, of that I understand. But please don't let grief stay in your hand. For on this day, more than the rest your love and friendship must stand the test. We have had so many happy years, you wouldn't want me to suffer so when the time comes, please, let me go. Take me to where my needs they'll tend, only, stay with me till the end and hold me firm and speak to me until my eyes no longer see. I know in time you will agree, it is a kindness you do to me. Although my tail it's last has waved. From pain and suffering I have been saved. So don't grieve that it must now be you who has to decide this thing to do. You've been so close, we both these years, don't let your heart hold any tears. . . . . .

That's very sad Sonea, sorry to hear it :(

The thought of losing Luna, even after only 6 months, is bad enough for me!

Sorry to hear that squire. Cats are basically little humans with fur and fangs. They are part of the family. He was a rescue cat and you gave him a life that countless others didn't get. You should feel blessed for the time you had with him and he'll be away chasing butterflies over the rainbow bridge now. Take comfort in the fact he was a good age and had a great life with you.

So Luna doesn't go outside a whole lot but she did get out and about for a bit last night while I was doing some gardening. At one point I went up and started to stroke her only to be hissed at :/ She didn't run away or take a swipe at my hand but she wasn't too pleased. I can only imagine she's not too confident outside and was feeling a little torn between feeling anxious about the noises/smells/sights and it being me.
