Show us your kitty cats

hmm, looks like i might be getting a cat, my sister got a new dog around 5-6 months ago and her 10yo cat Dexter wont go in the house because of it, he got on ok with the last dog she had but he's been sitting out in all weather because of the dog, so my sister wants to re house him

So, sister gets a new dog and the existing resident needs to go? Lovely...

Save the cat.

TBH the sister should have got rid of the dog when she realised the cat wasn't happy.
What would she have done if it was her 10 year old child?

agree with all the above
still unsure if id take him though as i had recently made my mind up that i wouldnt have cats again, or at least not for the forseable future

Rescue cat. Picked her up last night. She's just been spayed and the vet says she's only about 5 months old

Came home and took a potato photo of Thorin because he looked enormous.

Can't believe how much he has grown in a year.

Took Holly to vet for monthly weigh in - lost another 100g - down to 6.18kg

She just sits there in front of us most of day begging for food.

She was a rescue cat who lived on building site scrounging bit's of sandwiches from builder and now I think she is frightened of going hungry again. :(

Well done :) more pics when you can :D

Is that candle light? :p

May as well be, energy saving bulbs which only get bright enough to use by the time I go to bed!

He's a right poser though, may as well be candlelight. Got my Mrs wrapped round his little finger, but I see through his games!

Expose him by having treats in your pockets! Then the smell will rub off on your hands and he will follow you everywhere. Then she shall see the truth: he likes you more. :D

thats a pretty good idea. sneaky but good. apparently forest cats are very diet sensitive so I will have to be careful with that one.

unless the mrs is telling me lies to stop devious schemes like that :D

I think we've found who keeps the treats in her proverbial cat purse. :D

I don't recommend wet food in your pockets though.

Unfortunately, we had to have old Smokey put to sleep yesterday (Previous post).

In the last week or so his condition had deteriorated quite rapidly to the point where he wasn't eating or drinking and, as of yesterday, hadn't really moved from his bed for two days. When he did get up he was so frail and barely able to stand and the decision had been made to have him put to sleep rather than let him starve to death or similar. We all wanted him to go of his own accord but that may have taken days (or perhaps even weeks) and it seemed unfair to let him suffer that indignity. He was almost completely blind and jumped at every sound or vibration he felt.

This picture was taken shortly before we left for the vet.

He was taken to the vets on his cushion and seemed calm and at peace whilst we were all there. The process was, mercifully, very quick.

He had a good, long, comfortable life. We all miss him terribly and he will leave a large hole in our lives for some time.
