Show us your kitty cats

Anyone had experience with getting rid of fleas in their cat? Tried some tablets from Amazon, it gets rid of them for 24hrs but they seem to come back. Only option booking a vet visit and get something prescription strength from them or any other cheaper options?
On the spot oil thing did the trick, when I got my cat many years ago now, she had fleas. The treatment sorted it out and then we put an anti flea collar. If your cat is ok with water, give them a bath in the anti flea shampoo too.

The tablets will knock the fleas back but you will need to give them tablets two or three times over the summer.

They sell drops in the shops, but unfortunately these are older types and the fleas have started to develop immunity to them. They might not work at all. The very latest medication, your vet has. After an initial visit you should be able to just buy them off the vets every three months or so. This will eliminate the fleas completely.

You don't have to keep the medication up all the time, during the winter fleas are no problem. It just during spring and the summer. So usually two or three doses of "whatever" will keep them clear.

I am afraid that if you cat is an outdoor cat then nothing will stop them coming back but with the vet treatment its unlikely you will ever see one! Do not allow it to get too bad or you will have to treat the entire house.

I get the tablets and give them to the cats every few months. It's a lot cheaper than the vet.

I don't know how small your cat is, but the average cat only needs half a tablet. A young cat even less. It won't harm them to over-dose but it's money wasted.

I used to get Squeak a Seresto flea collar. Worked perfectly.

I just bought drops from Home Bargains, one drop a day on the neck skin (so he couldn't lick it off), worked a treat.

I have read similar things and I completely get the reasoning behind it, but on the other hand i would think that being "stuck" in one room of the house while everything else is going around him would stress him out just as much.

You can tell by his reaction. If he is hiding, then single room. If he is fairly happy about it all, then, as you say, best to give him company.
