Show us your kitty cats

Another update she's doing well and look apparently much brighter and is being vocal, ultrasound came back all is well and she's in good health other than her infection.

e; It's times like this I'm glad she's a house cat, as she wont be dying to get back outside. Just need her to keep getting better and come home really!

Starting the year off with rehoming a cat. Picking her up on Saturday. Ginger, 3 years old. Had been there for a year despite being in good health.

Was really hard because they also had a 13 year old sweetheart who happened to be in May's old cage at the shelter - but not sure we can go with any potential pain. Petplan quote just now also wouldn't offer any ongoing care due to her age

Tilly is home and in so much better spirits.

Just given her the medication required and she's currently laid with the other half on the bed chilling, keeping her fairly isolated from the kitten just as he's a bit of a mental one and she's got her line still in.

She's back at the vets tomorrow for a quick check up and discharge as they couldn't get her to eat, as soon as she was home within 10 minutes she was eating a bowl of food so I'm so happy. I've given her a treat (to disguise tablet) and she was way up for that, whereas yesterday she had no interest.

She was up to 41C temperature which is apparently pretty high for a cat, and she's back down in the normal range.

I'm so so pleased.

Slowly settling in. Sort of funny how she prefers being upstairs compared to down, which I'd rather she didn't as I like our bed to be ours and hers to ideally be downstairs on the couch. She spends most nights under the bed on an old cricket bag, which for now if she feels safe then so be it. Seems incredibly sensitive to noise, and did dread the first use of the hoover since we got her...

She has tried several times during the night, but some light reinforcement has not lead to that. Don't mind it during the day as it's quiet and she can just chill, which is the kind of cat we're after even though she is young at 3 and shown she does like a play every now and then

Just find it fascinating how May absolutely hated upstairs, whereas it's where April spends most of her time

She was running a pretty bad fever, and her white bloody cells cell count was way high so she’d been on IV Antibiotics and fluids overnight and has an ultrasound today.

Just hope everything settles as it’s a complete first for me.

I think kitten may have nipped her and it’s got infected, feeling very guilty.

Hopefully the insurance cover it…

Cats are really tough. There is a stray around here that suffers the most horrific injuries fighting, but it's recovery would put a human to shame. I am sure that most of the time we are over-reacting, but what can you do? We need that assurance and the only way is to ask a vet, because the little blighters can't tell you how bad things are.

Cats are semi-wild. They do fight they do get injured. It's one of the things you just have to accept. Even with house cats, it can all go very badly wrong! It's a bit like having ferel children, lol. It's difficult for humans to decide whether to let them be as they are, or wrap them in cotton wool.

Daft old me would go for the 13 year old every time, lol. I almost set myself up for pain. But the more needy a cat is, the bigger sucker I am. The simple truth is that no one wants the older cats, which is precisely why I do.
I dare not go to a rescue place. I would come home with an super-saver box full.

Having said that, my neighbour set me up last time one of mine died and handed me a kitten, who promptly attracted another young cat to come live in my house, so I have two youngsters now. They are 10 times more demanding, and 10 times more fun. Rewarding in a different way.

Tiny pic of my tiny cat "Grey" that we had to put down on Thursday. (picture taken that morning)
20 1/2 years old. Getting blind, check out dem cattttaracts.
Getting a little bit demented too.
Had a Tumour/growth in her jaw which was discovered the same day in an xray by the vet. As she was already sedated we agreed that it was best to put her down there and then :/
She had been struggling to eat for a week and we were force feeding her mush/paste.
She was described as miracle cat and one of the best condition 20 year old cats they had ever seen on previous visits.

RIP little kitty. We had to do the same to her sister 6 months before so its been a bad time for us.

We are now Catless and for just now that is fine.

sad efour....
