Show Us Your Motors!

After selling my supra a few months ago i decided its finally time to check the mx5 off the list and buy one purely to hoon about in. I bought this with the intention of taking it to DWYB days and not caring when i eventually crash and ruin it.

What i ended up with was an early UK car with and LSD and no power steering. The previous owner had taken it to the Nurburgring and a few other track events so it was lowered, polly bushed, had a reasonable set of toyo proxyes and had EBC green stuff pads plus upgraded disks. along with a few strut braces, roll bar and set up geometry.

The original plan was to use and abuse it whilst i get to grips with drifting, but I ended up using it as my daily driver after a change in jobs a few weeks ago so i might start making it a bit more suited to me. I have a nice set of rotas i might put on it and i may try plasti-diping it to a more manly colour at some point instead of lipstick red :P

Back to our motors!

I played Golf at a mates club and parked in the overflow field away from everyone, received this picture by text after my round, apparently people had been wandering over to have a look :D

Dat stance

Indeed! Stock height is perfect, no idea why people would drop it more.

You're getting it's tyres mucky parking it there!

Should see the roads where I live, farm mud up to the wing mirrors so I have to crawl out at 2mph until the main road to help keep it clean :p

That side panel carbon? It just looks gloss black in that picture.

Yes carbon, I don't have any good pictures of it though, same weave as the other carbon bits in my thread here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18633913

Going to try and attend any ocuk motors meets next year (would love to do some more karting!) so no problem with passenger rides again, not sure about taking my clubs though. :p

P1rate's charger is gobsmackingly beayooootiful.

JP, is it jsut the way the light falls, or do you have wavy discs on that R8?

And since all the handbags have been put away, here's my little motor:

It's a 2006 Mini One. Bought it with 70k on the clock and it turned out to be in a pretty bad state of neglect. No service in forever, 4 different brands of tyre one of which is a snow tyre (yes, really), worn track rod bushes, front strut mounts are completely shot, needs new brakes all round, and one of the rear calipers gets a bit sticky.

That said, it's just been for a service at Technosport (BMW fans should know this place ;)), I've just bought all the parts it needs this past weekend so hopefully this coming weekend I'll be able to fit it all.

It's also got loads of extras from the factory, like the panoramic roof (this was the main reason I bought it, only MiniI could find with one) and some other bits.

I've also got a few "extras" for it. Let's just say that in a few weeks time, no 320d will be able to come even remotely close to it ;)

Love it, proper hoon machine, even with only 90bhp.

JP, is it jsut the way the light falls, or do you have wavy discs on that R8?

Yes, they call them "scalloped" discs, apparently saves 1.5lbs per disc and improves heat dissipation.
They work well, I don't think I will be able to get them to fade much on the road and the pedal feel is much better than the ceramics in my opinion.
