Show Us Your Motors!

Finished playing with the video editing software, excuse the general level of crapness

Just to add when you have the HUD turned on most of the information that appears in the dash, such as the Nav instructions, music selection and phone book, appear in the HUD instead and aren't displayed on the dash at all.

That is very cool!

Can you tell that the dials 'aren't real'- is the dial movement smooth and 60fps or is there lag / delay and jerkiness?

When they are stationary if you just glanced at them probably not, when moving yes you can tell as the numbers grow and shrink as you approach or go past them and there is a slight lag when it changes up as the needle sweeps down but not much.

I'll try to get my sony action cam thing setup so it records the dash while I'm driving.

Temporary company car to be replaced when (if) I get through my probation period. Worryingly the replacement is looking like it will be an Insignia which will be an interesting fit on the drive :o

Is a 2L turbo this time, got it cheap on the bay.
Had some faults, all gone now, just been to have a remap on her this morning, as it had been remapped badly in the past, not smooth on the throttle at all. Now she is.

That 6 is nice! Struggling to think why you went with a 235i to begin with?!

At the time the options on the table, and to be honest what I wanted, didn't bring the 640d into my budget. I also really liked how the M235i drove, and still do, just the range of problems I experienced put me off ordering another one.

I had ordered a 335d which if they'd delivered it in the time frames originally discussed I'd have gone for, but again circumstances transpired to mean that it wouldn't be delivered until sometime after March 2015 which when I was ordering it to replace a car due to problems seemed to be a bit of a long wait.

Whilst looking at other options with the Business Manager we had a look at a used 640d they had just taken in., which i liked it quite a lot so he ran some numbers which looked promising. I asked about an extended test drive of that car but because it was untaxed they couldn't do that, so they lent me their 14 plate MY14 car for a couple of days. I loved the way it drove and how it felt to be in it, so spoke to him when I got home about the used car, at which point he said he'd been playing with the numbers on a new car, and if I could put in a bit of a deposit I could have a new one within my budget.

Became a bit of a non-decision then, as whilst its costing me more through the deposit and monthlies than the used car, the net effect once you take into account servicing, extended warranty, extending the online services and the fact the used car had the older wheel and satnav the overall cost through the time I'll own it isn't that much different. So I bought the new one, which I love...

After using the E39 all week and being away for business I was extremely looking forward to driving the M3 again. Have been off work today and it was nice and fresh outside so thought it was a good enough day to let the window down, have a good drive into the country and listen to the beauty that is the S54 at full pace and I'm so glad I did. It felt almost new again and excited me all over again...I remembered why I bought this car.

20/25 spacers would finish that Z of nicely!

I'm still not 100% convinced on spacers and how the affect handling, it does look better, but I'd be worried about it having a negative impact on the handling.
