Best get that occupancy sensor looked at under warranty :D

(Surely the warmth you felt was simply the residual warmth from whatever was in the bag)

Sensor is fine, it chimes and annoys the hell out of me when certain passengers seem to find 38 billion things to do when getting in the car that are all a much higher priority than putting their seat belt on

I'm very sure it was the seat itself as I've also put the heat on before picking someone up if it's cold outside and it's warmed up before them getting in, but just to be sure I'll try and borrow a thermal camera to prove to a bunch of people on the internet that I'm not going mad.

I've done the same (turned it on in advance on a cold day before picking someone up) in both my S3 and a 5 GT. I don't think you're going mad :p
Although the BMW ones heat up so bloody quickly you'd be hard pressed to notice.
Definitely worked in the E60.

I didn't even know that the sensor related to the heated seat. I thought it was only for the seatbelt/airbag.

Removed old tints, new roll waiting to go on and painted the alloys Satin Black. Needs nicer headlights (still after 6 years of ownership) and its annual wash must be soon.

Since getting mine, I have become fonder of the old Bug.

I've got a bigger Scoop coming and have been looking at fog light covers, apart from that, I think some STi projectors finish the front end off nicely.

I see you have the STi grille too which makes a big difference to the appearance.
