Maybe, but I get paranoid about people clipping them when it's parked. Plus it's quite cool to see all the windows and mirrors automatically close/fold when you lock the car.

I don't know if you realised but the purpose of folding mirrors isn't to look good, therefore it isn't really relevant how 'retarded' they may look when folded.

100% agree. just another way for manufactures to get money out of you, same with those light underneath and indicator light on them. just put a few leds in them and charge x10 the price.

In fairness mine is a Japanese delivered car, all cars have them standard there as they really do have very narrow streets. Over here we don't, even small streets with cars parked both sides you can pass easily without any worry at all of clipping mirrors.
