I really like the C30. Whats the auto box like in them?

I am not sure I am the right person to ask as this is my first time ever driven/own a car with an Auto box. So I can only say that it is good and I like it and don't miss a manual box, except my left foot, it keep wanting something to do.

I've picked up this bad habit of using my left foot to brake since driving an auto. :(

That's what I did in the dealer's car park when i first got it and the car keep jerking forward and I stopping it with the other foot.

Then I remembered reading somewhere that you shouldn't do that, and move my left foot out of the way and it clicked.

The C30 looks nice in red!
I think the whole back end would look better with tinted windows though with the rear glass being so high.

its look great. i went to test drive a c30 t5 today and tbh it doesn't drive anywhere near as good as it looks or should do on paper :( i was really hoping to get one as well.

That's a shame, what spec one did you try?

Manual or auto? Was it R-Design?
Manual r design. It was a black 2007 with all the toys, but it's so numb. I was shocked tbh. The controls are very light and don't feel attached to the car. Seemed to corner nice and flat but it didn't feel as fast as I would expect. The clutch and gearbox were easy, but they didn't have any feel. I drive a lot of subarus so I used to heavier controls and a nice notchey gearbox. I think I will look at a focus St to compare.

I can see that, I guess that's what I mean when I said it's comfortable. Another way to put it from your description is "floaty", the steering is like steering on air a bit.

The Yaris was more work and it felt faster because I had to work a little harder.

I kinda like the way the C30 handles, I must be getting old lol

There's a lot I like about the C30 and I really wanted one before I went with a Mazda 3 Sport instead, but looking at them now they seem just a touch dated or under-specced compared to much of the competition. Doesn't seem to be the case with your one Raymond which is very nicely specced, but I've been a bit disappointed with the ones I've looked at on AutoTrader. Even just small things like no LED lights etc are a bit annoying.

Mine lacks a couple of things like USB, Bluetooth, Dynaudio and Satnav, or if you get nitty gritty, keyless entry (I kinda miss !) and their blindspot alert system.

The USB and Bluetooth I can get round by retro fit the USB and/or Parrot kit.

The Dynaudio I'm not so bothered about as I only listen to podcasts or football in the car.

The Satnav for the Volvo is really dated and best not bothered with.

The things that I have, like xenons that turns in the direction of the steering and the auto box is things that I wasn't even looking for but very glad it has. It's also not something I can retro fit so in a way, I'm glad it turned out that way.

The Mazda 3 MPS was on the cards at one point but the high tax put me off, not sure why as this one is £290 but going from £215 to £490 seems like too much of a mental obstacle to overcome than £215 to £290. Seeing £200 over the course of the year is really not that significant when adding in the fuel costs.

The interior I think also held up to time as well, I don' think it looks dated, yet.

(I've seen online that the left hand drive version doesn't move the handbrake to the opposite side, which would be majorly annoying)

Biggest downside iirc on the C30 is the small boot.

I agree, although the problem isn't so much as the boot is small as you can look at it as a 2 seater coupe with a good size boot that can sometimes seat 4 people or 4 seater with a small boot.

The annoyance is more to do with the small opening than the volume. With the seats down there is plenty of volume for 2 people and their luggage for the airport, but you need to put it in the long way in, that and it's higher than most car's boot opening. There is no way it will hold 4 people and their luggage.
