Show Us Your Motors!

Well, i spotted the brakes was smaller. Eagle eyes me! But yes the interior would have been a bigger giveaway, ill give you that.

It's very hard to tell either apart due to the small difference in size to begin with and is solely down to the photo angle. Some make the standard discs look big, other angles make them look small.

What's wrong with the look of the regular M3? A fake CSL isn't a classic and a 'perfect' M3 isn't one with a load of fake stuff fitted :(

Badges are no longer on the car the previous owner did that. I think the e46 M3 in general is a future classic.

Bet he sat there rubbing his hands together when he posted his E46 "Oooh, the lads on motors will love this"

Instantly gets ripped in to.

Hey it's made my evening read on the forums more interesting.

Looks very nice. Are they genuine parts? The genuine bumpers are worth a small fortune now.

Bumper isn't genuine, boot lid and wheels are.

You didn't buy that e46 from boba fett of m3 cutters by any chance?

Looks great either way.

Thanks mate yes it from boba.

It's not like he's painted the wheels black with rattle cans, tinted the windows, put two white stripes down the car and slammed it now is it?

Oh really, that's kind of ruined my next idea then..

Cool, thought so.

I used to follow the build thread, he did get a carbon roof, but just read that it would have been a nightmare to fit so returned it which is a shame. Would have been a nice touch.

Yes its a black wrap at the moment. Next plan is to put some AP's on, got a trip to Spa in May so need something better than the standard brakes which are dreadful.

I can always spot your buggered bumper and wrecked drivers seat a mile off.

Brakes are pants on the E9x too. I done two consecutive laps at nurburg and I was getting brake fade, I wasn't even going that fast having come out of a friends car that he stuffed into the barrier, literally side ways down the track. Some of those curbs there are brutal.

I've read that just changing the pads, lines to braided and dot 5.1 makes a good amount of difference, so I'll do that to mine as the brakes need replacing anyway.

Have fun at spa, looks like an epic track. I wouldn't mind going some time.

Yes some RS29 pads, braided lines and a good fluid makes a very noticeable difference to a set of standard brakes.

Yes I took the M135i last year and loved every minute of it. Best track I've ever done.

Like yourself I'm vehemently against anything that's not OEM and nothing makes me laugh more than a badly chavv'd BMW. Having said that, if I were to buy an E46 M3 it would take a lot of will for me not to buy one in silbergrau and turn it into a CSL look alike as, in my personal opinion, that's one of the best looking cars there has been recently. I'd obviously draw the line at badging it as such as that's just a bit too cringe worthy.

Oh great, now I'm looking at M3 CSLs....

I remember we briefly spoke about those... You should have bought one ;)

You clearly love them, and it would be an appreciating asset too, as long as you don't drive it to the moon!

I considered one instead of my E92 M3 as back then they were £35-40k for an alright one. I'd kick myself a bit more if it weren't for the fact Gibbo sold his for <£20k (I think), so at least I'm not the only one who called that wrong :D

Would love one but as others have said, £60k now is silly money for what would have to be a lightly used second car.

Are you planning any winter meets by the way? Perfect time for a poor weather meet. Summer is so very far away. :p

Need to find a pub first lol, I'm out and about in Kent tomorrow so will get looking. Will try and do one in Feb, then going to aim for quarterly as one a month was too much tbh.

Quarterly sounds like a plan. Such a shame the woodman shut again, such a good place to have a meet or at least start one. Wonder if it's got a new tenant yet or one lined up. Not been passed it for a couple of months now.
