I can't speak for MRK's as mine and his M3 are a little different and I have no idea on how accurate the crappy phone apps are but in my M3 I managed to record:
4.3s to 60mph (phone)
9.2s to 100mph (phone)
60-100mph (4.8s) (CSL was 5.6s) Both done on racelogic so that is accurate, so its nearly a second quicker than my CSL, so its running very nice.

In short I can embarrass an RS when turns are involved, even in the wet, in a straight line my mates 400HP RS keeps me honest, both pretty even and it really surprises a lot of cars for a 15yr old banger.

But my M3 is an unfair comparison, it was quicker than the Mustang when Mustang was stock, weight kills performance badly as my M3 depending on dyno/day has seen anything from 360-385HP and the weight currently is 1372kg with full tank of fuel. Though I plan to get it under 1300kg this year, CSL roof, wings and AC delete plus put the smaller battery back in is a good further 50kg off, so take fuel out the equation and its tipping the scales at sub 1300kg.

Still saying that MRK's cab M3 will still kick your ass, its practically a full second quicker to 60 and beyond 60 its only getting even quicker as at this point weight becomes less of an issue and BHP more important to keep the acceleration going.

Find out the 0-100 time for your car, its probably around 16s whereas MRK's car will be around 11-12s, 4s on the road in the real world is a big difference.

Was the convertables somet like 5.5secs to 60? Thought they was slower due to the extra weight?

With its original PS2 tyres with 255 width and stock map, yes, although people/reviews were getting 5.0-5.2 ish whereas the coupe was getting 4.6-4.8. Both formats seemed to get better figures than what BMW claimed. Mine has 20 more HP, 15 more Nm, a higher redline and power continues to be made up to it whereas at stock, it stops making power at a shade over 7000rpm. I am also on wider tyres with modern performance tyres.

Here is a clip from a while back, I shifted early in each gear, the lights should hit back to 4krpm for each shift, so would have been a bit better still, but I really can't be bothered to do a run again, done it once to scratch the itch

Weight does make a huge difference, my DC5 keeps up with a lot of more powerful machinery, that's before corners get involved.

Likewise in the MX5, knocking on the door of 250 bhp/tonne really makes a difference

Well mrk weighs about as much as a sheet of A4 paper so he makes some epic weight saving there. Although I'm not sure of the weight of those watches he wears.

That's what I love about my ST205. Only 350bhp but roughly 1300KG's now while retaining full interior and air conditioning (Have stripped out a lot of audio, spare wheel, fiberglass wings etc). Had a fantastic play with a brand new focus RS. The guy couldn't believe my car was 22 years old. He actually seemed a tad embarrassed

. A compareable RS3 or Focus RS are getting on for nearly 300kgs more.

They were never slouches anyway.

My Teg currently keeps with my mates Evo X SST, I think once the shorter final drive goes in and I'd be edging it. I've not bothered stripping any interior of mine, not sure whether it's worth it as it's typical flimsy Jap stuff anyway.

Yep its amazing how quick an older 350HP car is if well setup. The M3 because its circa 1350kg, 360-380BHP, RWD so lesser transmission losses and of course the SMG really helps to propel it. The new Focus RS would have no chance against it, they'd need 400+, my mates TT RS only keeps it honest in a straight line as that is 400HP, 400lb/ft area and is also around 1400kg, so not particular heavy either. The think the new Focus RS is like 1600kg area, pretty crazy for a hatch.

Keep mentioning the evolve remap. If i remapped mine it would be quicker then stock, probably gain more then 20hp & 15nm of torque.

If I find a video on youtube of a TT mk3 with the same engine/gearbox then I'll post it lol.

I heard that knocks half a second off the 0-60.

To be fair if he fitted something like Mickey Thompson ET streets it would knock close to half a second off the 0-60 and still be road legal
